Oh man, you should play Tekken 5 or 6. The big boss characters are up there with Gil on the prick scale.

And the main mode for both is the worst beat'em up every created.

I've played both and neither reach the frustration level of 4 for me. Probably because of the high damage/juggles that go on for infinity billion years...

Frankly, I'm rarely left in furious rage over a game, but overall, I suppose current top favourite would be Command & Conquer 4. Always liked the series, C&C3 played really bloody well, and then EA pushed out the monstrosity known as Command & Conquer 4.

Lesson 1 in "how to rape a franchise": Look at EA.

Lesson 2's probably focused on Activision, but that'll be a lesson for another day.

Galerians on PSone. Maybe it's because I was younger but the controls made no logical sense to me at the time and it just seemed so damn hard. Now it's apparently a rare game to find, not that I have any particular desire to play it again.

Crime Fighters. Even the infinite continues you get with MAME aren't enough to get through it. Respawning enemies are an expected part of beat-em-ups, but this game spawns so many enemies at once that it takes forever to get through any of the levels and you use at least 10 or 11 continues per level (it's kind of hard not to when you've constantly got five or six guys kicking your ass). I gave up around level five and never saw the ending.

Also, Sonic 2 for the Game Gear. The levels with the boss fights don't give you any rings, making even the first boss of the game impossible to get past (I know, I used an infinite lives cheat and tried a couple dozen times before quitting).
