Favourite plot twist in a video game? (spoilers, duh!)

This is one of those days. I mean, one of those days when I feel like creating threads. Losing a few of my recent ones in the rollback hurt me deeply.

Anyway, this will be pretty simple. What's your favourite plot twist in a video game? What was the moment that made you go "holy fuck, I did not see that coming"? Or the moment that shocked you the most? I personally love it when a game can surprise me, and it's nice to see something unique now and then among all the clichés. The main villain is a relative/friend of the protagonist? The "good guys" turn out to be the bad guys? A close friend/party member betrays you? Or my personal favourite, "the church is evil"? I think we've all been there.

(Seriously though, every time I see religious dudes in a JRPG, my villain senses are tingling like crazy.)

In any case, one of my favourites would be the (good) ending of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

A certain revelation towards the very end and the explanation that followed pretty much made this installment my favourite in the entire SH franchise. Even if the gameplay itself was not very exciting, I loved the plot and found the ending scene especially moving. It was clever, mature, and well-told. If you want to see it (and don't mind spoiling it for yourself), it's on Youtube.

Another one would be the finale of The Witcher.

I Like the plot roller coaster the original Silent Hill takes you on when you take the time to actually get the good ending and fight Samael.

Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Dardeath Evilman

persona 4 suprised me. though final fantasy 13 suprised me as well i am not done with it. final fantasy 7, to me, had no plot twists so i have nothing to report on that, final fantasy x
