Default [GUIDE] Convert PSX game to PSP Eboot w/psx2psp

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * PSX to PSP game conversion tutorial *

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Step

    1. Download PSX2PSP v1.4.2 below:
    PSX2PSP_v1.4.2.zip
    2. Extract the zip or rar file with WinRar found here:

    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

    3. Now that you have the program Select Clasic Mode and click ''Ok'' here:

    4. For a single disk game, click the "..." under "ISO/PBP File:" here:

As for multiple disk games, use the drop down and select ISO/PBP File 2 and browse for disk 2, ISO/PBP File 3, and browse for disk 3 and so on.

    5. Browse for your Playstation game backup. I have Selected Alundra 2. All of the necessary information will automatically be filled in.
    6. Now select an output folder for your finished PSP eboot. here:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Steps 7 through 10 are Optional. If you wish, you may skip to step 11.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    7. Adding a custom Icon and background for your game. here:

    8. Browse for your images, I prefer the front cover for the Icon, and an exciting screenshot for the background.
    9. You may Also add an Information Image, Background music, Icon Animation, and A Boot/Warning Image; though I ordinarily will not.
    10. After you have Browsed for and Selected the game, image and optional images/sounds, you may click "Preview". Here is my preview:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steps 11 and end the tutorial.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    11. When you are satisfied with your Preview and output folder, click "Convert" to start the conversion. here:

    12. You will notice it will say "converting iso, #% done. Average Compression #%."; at the bottom of the window.

Wait for it to say "Done. Final Compression: #%." and then exit.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    CONGRATULATIONS!
you have successfully converted your own psx game to play on your psp.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    TO PLAY:
You Now you will have a folder named after the Game ID. Rename it to the title of the game and leave the EBOOT.PBP in there.

Place the whole folder onto your PSP memory stick pro duo here:
    root:\PSP\GAME\NewFolderName\EBOOT.PBP
and the next time you boot your CFW enabled PSP with the memory stick inserted, the game will show up under your Games.
    Enjoy.

Dunuck, Chrono is one of the tough games to get working according to this comat list:
    http://forums.qj.net/psp-general-hel...ty-thread.html
They suggest you use an alternate I scus-94640

You should have seen this drop down while converting. and you can type it in directly. If only the compressed version works for you, then there is only that option.

I was curious to know what size the images need to be in order to match them to the correct ratio for the PSP's display, and also to match the other icons that show up for regular PSP games. I found this in another guide, elsewhere:

Icon Image: This is the Icon you will see on the left whilst looking for the game.
The size should be set to "144x80" and be a PNG file.

Background image: This is the background image, pretty obvious. This will be
"480x272" and is also a PNG file.
Would you agree with those sizes? I noticed that you use a more square icon with your eboots, since you use the front cover, but most PSP games seem to have a rectangular icon.

EDIT: Regarding the icon images, never mind. I see that the software chooses a square image, even if the chosen image has different proportions. The background image looks good though, at that resolution.

EDIT x2: Don't mind me~ It seems that entering "options" allows you to change the icon from "default 80x80" to simply "default" which allows the 144x80 image size to be used for your eboot's icon, thus creating an icon the same shape and size as the icons associated with PSP .isos patched to run with CFW. This is nice for people like me, who prefer things to be as uniform as possible.

No what you do for a psp iso is create an iso folder in capitals in the root of your Go and place the iso in there for a psx convert you make a folder in the psp game folder where fast recovery should be and place the eboots in there

Who said anything about a pspgo?
PSP isos will run without changing anything, granted your PSP is hacked. It is running custom firmware, yes?

PSP UMD images be that they are iso or cso (cso files are just compressed iso files) just get dumped directly into an ISO folder in the root, also do not create sub folders inside the ISO folder

A simple miss understanding as the poster did not state in this thread that the PSP was the Go version, makes no difference it's the same process no matter what PSP is used, as the ISO folder is in the root of the storage be that a Go a 3k , 2k or 1k PSP
