Q: Does the WII really have graphics that barely surpass the PS2's graphics?

Some hackers have cracked (or some crackers have hacked?) a Wii Virtual console game and posted the torrent on the web. The SNES title F-Zero is first downloaded, then transfered to an SD card, and then to the Wii internal flash storage. It’s the NTSC version of the game, so it’ll only work in the US. You can find the torrent here (make sure you got the original game first, as piracy is bad, in case you didn’t know).
Could you PM me the link to that site plz?

It's fake and can be found on a few torrent sites

Thing is it's not hacked, just a Wii download that was torrented... problem is those are tagged to the Wii they are downloaded from

"F-Zero.SNES-VC.NTSC.Wii-iND torrent" in google (without quotes) will give you a few torrents

If you back up all your VC titles to an sd card and than out the pop the sd into a pc,
    its just one big file.

apparently someone was working on a wii point keygen,
but the screenies looked pretty bogus.

Actually, I believe Nintendo has said it's roughly 2x the power of the GameCube.

I would say you're pushing it. The Xbox was capable of 1080i and 720p. SRSLY. Though not alot of games were made, there was some for sure.

If the Wii really is twice as powerful as the GC, and RE4 looked pretty sweet on that, then developers should be able to get some pretty nice graphics out of the thing. It's just a matter of whether or not they'll bother. So far, developers have crapped out some pretty bad looking games. Farcry looked like a fucking N64 game, for fuck's sake.

The Wii is not capable of those display modes, true, but that doesn't mean it's weaker. It's not capable of those because Nintendo chose for it not to be. The Wii, like I and Cyber have already said, has twice the power of the GameCube. Display modes =/= power.

You know what? I don't know why I even bother replying to you anymore when it comes to this.

What does that have to say about the power of the Wii? Even the PS2 supported 720p and 1080i. Look at Gran Turismo 4.
