does anyone have a installed pc98 windows 3.1/95? (hdi)

okay, ive installed win3.1 on a 80mb hdd, but it is 16 color only, how can i change to 256 or better color???

Frankly, there's no real point to it. If you want Windows 3.1 for some reason, you can run it on either an old DOS machine or in a PC emulator (such as DOSbox or Qemu) Unless the PC98 version of Win3.1 had some uber feature that the normal version didn't I'm puzzled as to why you would do this.

DosBox is not compatable with pc98 windows or dos software so I don't see the point in that at all

Yeah the uber feature is PC98 games for windows that isn't compatable with any normal IBM compatable windows

i noticed many pc98 windows games can play on pc windows too, but almost all pc windows games cannot play on pc98 windows...

Newer NEC computers are actually IBM compatable PC's now anyway and in the later life of the PC98 range the software was made compatable with both to cover the newer NEC computer market aswell as the NEC PC98 market

okay, ive changed to 256 color on anex86, but there is lots of "black" on the color theme section, is it normal???

Going by the pic...you obviously have a non-english version so I can only guess, but...
Do the custom color thing and make whatever you want...
Personally I like Unicorn Blue and Raspberry River...
(Those don't exist but you can make what colors you want)

I'm not being much help either unfortionatly it's been too long since I played with PC98 stuff

You could check your vid config and the Direct X options I also remember a full color option being there

So what games were written for PC98 Windows that weren't on PC Windows? Japanese Solitaire? It's not like Win3.1 could handle games that well...

Naw. Japanese computers had some decent stuff available... Ever here of the X68000? That had some of the best arcade conversions ever, because it was almost literaly arcade hardware in a computer case...

Also, not all dating sims are porno.

Most of the PC98 is hentai

Though my fav stratagy games are PC98 games, Farland Story 1 to 6 (No hentai in those) but otherwise about 90% of the PC98 is hentai including a Farland type game that I personly thought was great till the end of level cut lol

If you love hentai though Nec PC98 is the machine for it
