problems with ps2 emulator nSX2

when i go to open a file i press open on an iso image and nothing happens!!!!

my specs are:
AMD Sempron 2800+
HDD MAXTOR 80 GB
512 MB RAM
GYGABYTE RADEOON 9250 128 MB

PLEASE HELP OR RECOMMEND ME SOME OTHER PS2 EMULATOR!!

I'm not saying that PS2 emulation has finally arrived, but have you guys checked the site for PCSX2 lately?

According to the compatibility list, more than just a handful of games are now listed as playable. And the screenshots page shows a few games running at speeds of 20 - 30 fps.

PS2 emulation still isn't worth it and still wont be enjoyable to play unless it's out of pure curiosity

you click open ON the iso? or do you mean you launch the emulator and (most likely) click file and hit Open File or something along those lines?

PS2 emulation is far from functional. You won't be able to play any PS2 game on your PC in any resonable fashion..

Besides, don't you need a computer that's about 5 times faster than what you're trying to emulate? Something like that?

i wonder how long of a wait though. before ps2 emulation reaches the height of where psx emulation and snes emulation are at now. and what kind of ridiculous specs would be needed to run these games lol

well, there are super computers that would put the ps2 to shame. but then, if you can afford a rig like that, you could prolly afford the ps2 itself with a nice large tv along with it

well now ps3 is famous ps2 price is so low that anyone can aford it it is around 200$

The new ver PCSX2 is much improved from the last one. When it will be released is anybodys guess..

I'd guess not for a couple of years yet. (PS2 fully emulated)

As for PC specs required to play PS2 games. I've seen people running games like Disgaea at over half speed, but they were all on like Athlon 64 3800+.

ah, so you CAN emulate ps2 games *looks at evans*. you just can't run them at full speed and not all games are fully compatible just yet.
