Default I got a (?) about .bin typ files

I'm new to emulation and I was wondering if their was a way to convert .bin files to mds mdf typ files. Or is their a way to burn .bin files to a disk and run them strate from the disk cause I dont want to take up a lot of harddisk space if I dont need to.

You can change it to mdf, mds with alcohol 120% but why would you want to? you can burn bin files to disk. what burning programs are you using?

Though far from complete these two threads might give you a hand, post back if there's anything you don't get.

(by the way the image guide only has alcohol 120% up at the mo.)

Sorry! TheotheImpaler but I dont see anything on changing or burning bin files. could I just burn bin files as data files, would that work, and would this work on a cd-rw disk or would I have to burn it to a dvd typ disk? Are you telling me that bin files are really iso files? I dont know man! I'm > sleepy

You need daemon tools (this makes an virtual drive) to mount the image (do you have a cue file with it?) you mount the cue file then with alcohol 120% you make an image from you're virtual drive. when it asks you what you want to make select a mdf file.

Coulda swore i put that in

    Although the conversion is pointless.

Alcohol 120% definately burns bin/cue fine.

amdguy isn't mentioning a cue sheet so maybe thats why.

if amdguy's talking about emulating with ePSXe there isn't any reason to convert anything as it can read bin directly from Run ISO, but I'm sure I said that in another thread, so now this is just confusing.

    give us more details amdguy
what files you have to make up this game you got?
How big is the biggest file?
what game is it that you got?
what do you plan to play it with?

I don't think it would be to hard to create a cue file anyway, heres one from a bin file i made from cdrwin. i'm not too sure but if he wanted one all i think all that would need to be changed is the file part.

only problem is PSX iso's actually any iso can come in many diff modes and using a cue sheet that has the wrong mode will make a coaster

if he's lucky he can find out the mode with CDMage by trying to open in it in as the modes set in CDMage or by opening it in CDMage as Raw and auto detect then it will make a cue for him, if it's in one of the Modes that are RAW

Also depending on the game it may have sound tracks aswell but he will prolly loose those, thats why I asked what game.

Though testing with Daemon tools is always a bonus
