    Default Recording emulation

I hope this is the right place for this. (I READ THE STICKYS) Here goes...

I want a program that will allow me to save FMV's off of Emulators/ISO's as movie files. Either that, or some program that records what's on your monitor at the time (like a print screen movie) and saves it as a movie file.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

(I tried posting this in Tech Help but it wouldn't let me... I cry tears of n00bishness.)

Well i'm not too sure if they emulate them But I think some Cheat cartidge/password cards did that, failing that you could always record it yourself by pressing the record on epsxe but you need a high end pc for that.

Pressing the record? I see the record option in the configurations but how do I make it... happen?

You know I've conpletely forgotten, I think it was one of the buttons on the keypad area of your keyboard, if it works it should make a new folder "demo" and appear there.

If you just want FMVs and use PSX games I can help ya out here. Get a program like PSMPlay. It is for playing FMVs and XA Music off games. It can also convert them to AVI and such.

Does the program work with ROM's or CD-ROM's? Or both?

I would say both, but i dont know for sure. if it only works with images, then that's not a problem as you can make an image..

    PSMPlay

"This application has failed to start because WNASPI32.dll was not found."

Of course it wasn't. How could I forget about poor WNASPI32.dll. I shall send out a search party right away...

The program doesn't work with ROMs. (iso's, img's, etc) Unless it would work if I burned it to a CD... but the ROM files are too big...

    Anything else I could use?

PSMPlay only help you to see already recorded movies in the psx games. I think you want something that will record your races, tricks in skate etc etc

The program I use for this is called Camtasia Studio, made by techsmith. Search for it on google, there should be some trial.

and FMV's... The movies that are already in the game. PSMPlay only works with CD-ROMs, however.

PSMPlay works fine with CD Images but only bin/cue combo's

You could always use Daemon Tools to mount your PSX CD Image then run PSMPlay on that drive instead.

I'm off to bed now but I'm sure someone will help you out more with the Daemon Tools thing if you need it.

Just as a side note PSX ISO's (CD Images) sometimes are bigger than the actual contents and burn perfectly fine on a normal 80min/700MB CD-R

I do what Zorlon says. It is compatible with CDs and bin/cue images. If I have an image that isn't bin/cue I just mount it with Daemon's Tools and let it search that CD drive.
