CPS3 and emualtors?

Hello was a long time I didn t psot anything ehre ( lot of work..) I took a look on the last mame emulators and something made me surprisse was to see the stree fighter III series psoted there..on the list. I didn t heard any news about ps3 development ..encrypt..etc etc. So...is this another ROM version? or are just "wanna be" on the future..? How is the situation on games like Street Fighter III ? Mame can play them? Also ı downloaded a file library extension..talking about mods or something to CPS3 roms (???) so..is tehre an emulator ( mame? ) running PS3..? Like marve Street Fighter III? Also itnerested off course on teh arcade version of SNK vs Capcom..

snk vs capcom isn't cps-3, it's neo geo and can be played by certain emulators with the "ethics" code hacked out. as for ACTUAL cps-3 games, you can't emulate them. at all. period. end of story.

Are you absolutely sure about that? I remember hearing elsewhere that you could indeed run Street Fighter III in MAME, and alot of sites are providing both the rom and the CHD files for it as well.

CPS3-games are still encrypted.

The driver in MAME is just a dummy.....

Where did you hear that SFIII is playable in MAME?

CPS3 games are WIP emulated only but do nothin.

As always you can download the unemulated roms, but for CPS3 to work they need to be decrypted (This has not been done yet)

The CPS3 system used a CD and a cartridge.
Why it's not emulated (Santeri Saarimaa)
Nobody has cracked the encryption, plus there is no certainty of what the main CPU is (but this would be rather simple to figure out if the encryption was broken).

This will never work (encryption etc.) MAME driver does NOTHING, for reference only.

(Unmamed would also list an alternative emu to use if there was one but there isn't)

Thanks Zorlon thats was very clear..about the CHD..is what ı saw..so when I saw the mame list...my doubts cames.. Sad that the CPS3 can t be emulated since is always better to run arcade versions..than ISO s from consoles... Like you said Mame post on it s list to keep track on the games, year,sistem etc

If you really wanna CPS3 games like Street Fighter III and other games, I strongly suggested you used Chankast(a Dreamcast emulator in case you didn't know) and it actually run pretty well.

maybe. maybe not. chanka doesn't run on all computers. it doesn't run on mine at all but runs on a friend's pc. i ran into MANY problems using the emulator as far as actually playing the game goes and pretty much got useless help from the folks at the chankast forums so i myself wouldn't recommend a half assed emulator.

Half assed emulator? Nothing half assed about it.

The emulator works very well considering it's still in it's early stages, and is still being activly worked on.

You just need a powerfull machine to run it, as the dreamcast itself is powerfull to start with

If your a Win2k user I found it's beter to run your games from CD an have aspi active in the emu

Alot of the games that do run on it, run just as good as they do on my actual Dreamcast

Well Chankast runs pretty well on my computer except for some games (ie, DOA2) but it runs almost full speed on almost all of my games. I do agreed with you that Chankast's requirement is pretty high and not all computers support it. But I mean the emu is stil in alpha stage so what do u expect, right? We should be thankful that there is even a working DC emu.

you're right i suppose. i mean even though my pc can't run it. but....my pc can run games like doom 3 and the medal of honor PA demo but can't run chankast? hmmm.

Maybe your PC can and it's you that can't get it running on it

well, i of course did try and trouble shoot myself i mean it's not like the emulator setup is complicated. however, the people at the official chankast site couldn't even help.

it would be useless at this point. i live in manhattan and my friend's pc (which is the one that runs it) is in long island. and he's not exactly computer savvy. i may go to LI sometime next week though. my pc doesn't run chank, something about SSE not being enabled but when i'm there i'll start a thread on it. thanx for the help zorlon. that i know of, his pc is compaq, runs doom3 also, has 512MB of ram, 80 gig HD. not sure exactly what brand name card his pc has but it runs doom 3 just fine so it must be good. i'll ask what his processor speed is when i chat with him.
