Default Metal Gear Solid on ePSXe?

I need a little help configuring ePSXe v.1.6 for Metal Gear Solid on my cpu. My specs are:

    Intel 2.8gHz H-T Pentium 4
    512 mb ram@400mhz
    Sound Blaster Live
    Windows XP/Direct X 9.0

Right now, I'm having problems with both graphics and sound. Sound is repeating and the cut scenes are very slow and choppy. Besides that, the game plays pretty good. I'm using Pete's new 2.5 OGL and Eternal SPU. There are a ton of options on this thing(I thought the 1964 was bad.. sheesh.), and I'm not sure which would configurate the best for my comp.

    Thanks.

To Del and others: I finally got Banjo playing at a good speed on my 1964. I cut the anti-aliasing off on my card options and play it with the window up(I can't play it in full screen w/o the window around it or it slows things down considerably.) Doing this, it moves at a pretty constant 45-60 frames/second on Rice's modified Radeon plugin with the res turned up all the way. My only complaint with it is that the game still freezes up every so often. Maybe once every couple of minutes, but, whatever. It's much better than it was.

I have forgotten what kind of card you had. It would be best to click on the Fast button. Once you do that I would make it fullscreen and raise the resolution to around 800x600. If that runs fast just keep adding more settings like 2xsai and filters.

Duh, sorry. It's a Radeon 9800 Pro. Thanks.

I have another question about the bios. Is one better than the next? Right now I'm using SCPH7502. I tried downloading the big one(2.7 meg) off emuparadise, but after I downloaded it, it said it was corrupt or something.

Right now, this is my complete setup:

    Pete's OpenGL2 core, driver 2.5
    Eternal SPU plugin 1.41
    SCPH7502 bios
    default CDROM

Considering my specs, should I be able to run this thing with most options up all the way?

    Thanks again!

MGS works on ePSXe 1.5.2 fine, never tested it on 1.6...

Pete's OpenGL works fine (note: I said OpenGL, NOT OpenGL2)... Set Framebuffer options to "GFX card buffer" and "Emulated VRAM", everything else matters not... Disable all game fixes too.

Eternal SPU has a fix for MGS, methinks (set to SPUAsync - Smooth)...

SCPH1001.bin is pretty much the most reliable BIOS dump around, so try that one too...

It worked perfectly for me. Use Pete's Soft gpu plugin, it's the best for that game.
