Don't drink and drive, you might spill your drink.

So I spent hours DL Grid 2019, only to realize it needs DirectX12 and Windows 10 to run. I'm on Windows 7. I have Windows 10, but I'm reluctant to upgrade.

Don't upgrade to Windows 10 just for one game, if you want my opinion.

Is it still possible to use Dos in this day and age? Not talking using dosbox or something for old games but to use it as an OS and still go online etc?

The answer is no, you can't run DOS natively on modern Windows but you can run Windows 95 on a virtual machine. I posted that link for the sake of convenience, so that you don't have to download and install an ISO.

You can boot DOS from USB, you'll need to create an installation on a USB stick.

You can go online with original Commodore 64 computers. You can even buy a wifi modem for them
