Default Do I need a Wii Sensor Bar for Dolphin?

Before investing in one, I was wondering can I just use a regular Wiimote without the sensor bar? I have a PS3 controller, but it doesn't seem the same. Thanks

No, you do not unless you want to have the cursor display on screen. Games like SSBB work without the sensor bar.

It doesn't matter which Wiimote right? I noticed there are two remote versions, the first one that came out and the Wiimote Motion Plus. I'm trying to play Donkey Kong, New Super Mario and Skyward.

Skyward sword will require a wiimote motion plus, it doesn't work with a regular one.

Does anybody else remember seeing "gestures" in the Dolphin config screen?

I think it was sufficiently well-designed that there is a way to do all of that on keyboard, or possibly by mapping certain gestures to each direction of your analog stick. I may be wrong, I don't have it installed to check. Hopefully somebody will post a screenshot of the controller config windows to confirm this.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

That game also uses the censor bar if I remember correctly, motion plus I would of thought though can be faked for emulation

P.S. Check the compat for the games you want to play as well as the system requirements for the emulator

Using a Wii is still the easiest way to play Wii backups

See this page https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.p..._Skyward_Sword Scroll down to where it says WiiMotionPlus.

A little surprised it is not emulated I guess that is one of the few games that you need an actual Wii Mote to even play it

I guess that would apply to all Wii Motion Plus games, glad I own a Wii and 4 motion plus motes well 2 have the addon and 2 have it included, including my Gold Skyward Sword Mote

Also looks like that is a game not worth emulating due to the Wii Remote Calibration dropping out a little too easy, the other issues the game has are more acceptable though

Red Steel 2 is another game that needs MotionPlus.
