Default Help a Noob with PSX emulation Please!!

    Hi Everybody,

I'm new to emulation so please bear with me.

I have downloaded the EPSXE emulation+bios+plug in file on emuparadise as one and it works which is great, However during config set up i have no idea what the best settings are for my laptop to get the most out of the visuals.

If i give anyone my laptop info would they be able to guide me through it.

I've had a read about and the usual google but i cant seem to crack it myself.

Playing Crash Bandicoot runs fine no lag etc but the image is a little choppy.

Please someone help as its driving me insane.

Software rendering for your setup (like P.E.Op.S. Soft GPU)

Due to your graphics chip set hardware rendering via openGL or Direct 3D is going to be laggy/choppy mostly

    Thanks,

So should I go for the Soft option that is on the list in Config? The game ran smooth in terms of speed lag just had blocky visuals. Is there anyway to smooth it out?

Also while I got your help will my set up work fine for the older pre PS1 stuff like mega drive snes etc as there even less quality graphics??

I'm guessing psp, ps1 and ps2 id have more trouble with?

    thanks Paul

    Do I know you???

You can apply software filters, HQ2x is a nice one (best to stick to multiples of 320x240 to get the best out of it without distortion e.g. 640x480, 960x720 ect ect)

Instead of setting up the soft setting and having to press F7 to switch between whatever your main plugin is and the soft settings you can just grab the soft plugin from http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm#SOFTWIN and set that up as your main plugin

Older stuff will be fine yes

I think you signing your post with "Thanks Paul" has caused some confusion.
