PCSX2 Stopped working and hasnt responded

Hi there

My cpu specs:
-i5 cpu
-gtx 660 2g asus
-16g ram
-tv as monitor (HDMI connected) with smaller 23inch monitor (DVI connected) both connected to gpu.

Recently installed the ps2 emulator version 1.0.0
Been attempting to Dark Cloud 2 (downloaded from Emuparadise)

I play the game for about 10 minutes or give or take and my computer pops up with "PCSX2 has stopped working and has not responded" This has happened twice, both while playing Dark Cloud 2.

What am I to do about this?

If anyone needs more information, please feel free to ask.

Try using a newer version of PCSX2.

Do you mean PCSX2 [1.2.1]? Clearly this is the newer version, however, I was a little confused on why have different versions? different compatibility issues?

You're confused about software having updated versions?

If you're using save states, don't.

You can get the latest builds from http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php

these are way above 1.2.1

With each build new problems are resolved

Thanks for helping me you guys. I have tried the two latest versions listed on this site. I have downloaded C++ and I've tried to download a few of the versions listed on the buildbot.orphis site, however I can't even get .exe to work from that site. Each version/download comes up with "The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

**nevermind, I downloaded the 'correct' C++ version and i'm able to load the different versions of PCSX. I'm trying Dark Cloud 2 Now. Will update in a bit

That seemed to work either getting a newer version of PCSX or getting C++. I'm sure it was the combo.
It worked for about an hour last night.
