Default Need Help Figuring out how to save my game on Gameboy Emulator

Hi I'm new to these forums and the website so excuse my lack of knowledge in advance. So I recently downloaded the Gameboy Advance Emulator "Boycott advance" and dowloaded the ROM "Pokemon Fire Red". After a little bit of playing Pokemon Fired Red and everything going great I saved my game by opening up the in game menu and going to the save option. It showed I saved the game and then I exited the game. A few minutes later I re opened the game and found that it didn't save my game. I know theres a different way of saving with emulators, I'm just not sure how to do it. If anyone could explain to me how, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks

1 switch VBA http://sourceforge.net/projects/vba/...ualBoyAdvance/ or alt build from http://vbalink.info/ or http://sourceforge.net/projects/vbam...?source=navbar
2 grab VBA-over.ini drop that into the same folder as the exe for VBA http://www.emuparadise.me/links-and-...vba-over.ini/5
3 enjoy the game with the correct save settings setup automatically

At a wild guess the save setting are not correct for it work and the emulator may not have auto fixes for that game.

EDIT looks like you may be on a Mac, something you should of mentioned, though there is a Mac port of VBA-M that is a better emulator anyway and has link up features used with some GameBoy Advance games like Pokemon

    Save settings should be
Flash v103 - 1024kbit with RTC (Real Time Clock) enabled

But using steps 1 2 and 3 with VBA-M will resolve and setting issues automatically

You may also require a patch applied if the protection is not auto patched that by the sounds of it is not, find the patch attached, you will also need an ips patcher to apply the ips patch file
