Default Aliens vs Predator Arcade - Missing BGM Intro

I am able to run Aliens vs Predator Arcade Europe, but I do not get any background music with the opening scenes. It is just silence.

When the in-game starts (choosing your character), the music does start.

I have tried to run this game in Windows 7 with the following various emulators and versions.

    • MAME 0.145, 0.147, 0.152 and 0.164.
    • MAMEUI64 0.126 AND 0.166.
    • FB Alpha 0.2.97.36

I am baffled why the intro music is missing.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

It's the bios settings you need to look at

Bios options are accessed via F2 in MAME not sure about FBA

    Once there you want

    6. Configuration
    1. System
    Demo sound ON

P.S. there are a number of games you will need to do that with

    Thank you so much!

It worked by accessing F2->Configuration->System->Demo Sound ON

I wonder why it was turned off by default.

It's the done thing if every arcade has attract mode on with sound in a single arcade place you can't hear yourself think, besides it's not just arcade places that used arcade machines pubs and cafe's also use these with the sound off unless they are actually being played same with fruit machines, pinball and other quiz type arcade units

having it optional to enable is a good thing though so it is up to the place that owns or has hired the arcade unit as to what they have the settings as
