so theres all this talk about SOPA but what about the other 2 bills that havent been suspended, PIPA and ACTA, ACTA is a secret bill which the whitehouse will not disclose the text of but from what we know it is an organisational body outside of the already established WTO these bills will be just as devestating as SOPA, so please do not give up your support against freedom
I didn't know there was a blackout Wednesday. Thanks for the heads up. Now that it seems SOPA is down (maybe not for the count, but down) I hope People will say things about the other bills. I didn't even know about ACTA
There are potentially an endless amount of bills with the same policies as SOPA that lobbyists will continue to try and pass. It seems that only opposing corporate interests have any hope of stopping them. I think people are naive if they think public opinion petitions stopped SOPA. It's just too bad no big industry thought they'd lose money by repealing liberty with NDAA.Quote:

lol tomorrow will prove quite interesting, seems several thousand big website, 2 of which are wikipedia and wikilinks will be going dark (i'm actually not entirely sure what that implies atm but i'm assuming its cutting off access to the sites) tomorrow in protest of the 2 censorship bills. wonder what kind of situation the government will face when that happens. i don't think i've ever heard of such a large scale protest happening on the internet before but if nothing else then i'm looking foward to the reactions this'll get.
Well it's roughly 12AM her on the East coast, Wiki is down and Google has censored it's logo, I'm assuming a bunch of other sites are doing the same, I wonder what kind of impact (if any) this will have on SOPA and PIPA?
Hmm, it seems the wikipedia block uses a script to show to the block page over the page you requested, so you can probably access the articles using noscript if you urgently need to.Quote:

yeah i figured that out while i was at work today, our proxy server disables pop ups and javascript on a majorty of websites so when i got home i tested it out and it worked with no script plus adblock lol i cant see the google censor though since im not in the US
I can get wiki pages by pressing Esc to stop the page loading before the redirect.
