13 grand, or thirteen thousand.

It actually is a pretty good price. I'd expect one to go at auction for somewhere between $10-$13K anyways, so being able to buy one outright at $13K isn't that terrible of an idea. Most people who put these up for BINs on eBay would have priced it around $22K, which I might expect the Gold one to go for.
I will never, ever own a NWC cart. Unless I win the lottery. And only then.
I'm fine. I was just wondering if that was the price of a game. damn. The conversations between Goku and Vegeta are funny.
Do you have a Repo cart of it by chance Drag? I've seen some of them floating around, usually in the $50+ range. Granted, it isn't official obviously but would probably be a nice stop-gap until you can burn away over 10k on a cart
It's a rare competition cart that was never made available to the public. There were 90 of them that were given to the winners of the Nintendo World Championships competitions around the US in 1990, and 26 Gold cartridges that were given to random winners in a Nintendo Power contest, and that's it. They are considered one of the holy grails of video games, especially for NES collectors. The only thing I would consider more rare for the NES than an NWC cart would be a complete in box Stadium Events, and even then not by much.
I've seen them around and have thought about buying one, but in the long run I would never touch it and it would just be a waste of money. Maybe one day, but it's not high on my priority list. Once I'm over the hump for my licensed title collections, I'll consider it.
I think there's a Snes NWC cart out there too. I don't know much about it other than I think it was called the Campus Challenge instead of the NWC. I don't know what prices it commands since it never seems to be talked about much.
Ok, so I guess there is only one 1991 Campus Challenge cart that was sold for 20k a few years ago, and only two known copies of the 1992 Snes Campus Challenge. Both are held by some private collector.
Powerfest '94 is the one that always comes to mind when I hear SNES competition. I think there are only two of those left in the wild -- the others were returned to Nintendo after the competition to be used for parts. I think Campus Challenge was the same thing, 'cept a different year. 1991 or 1992, something like that. A quick Wiki lookup tells me that there are only two of those carts in the wild as well.
Wow. only 2...
Whelp, I should probably go finish what cleaning I was doing, then have a shower.
This sure has been an exciting birthday. >.>
aww. Poor Drag. Happy birthday.
No worries, I haven't been advertising it that much. :P Any semblance of plans that I had (go to a bar with a book, order myself a decent meal and have a few drinks) got kind of dashed when my brother invited me over for dinner. So now I'm obligated to put up with the menagerie in their tiny house while making small talk just long enough so as not to seem rude before leaving, parking my car at home and maybe going out for a beer before I pass out and start a new day tomorrow.
Or I'll just do all of this tomorrow evening before stumbling over to a friend's place to watch The Walking Dead. If I do that, then I can stumble into work tonight and maybe hit on one of the girl's there and see if I can't persuade her to come out for a drink with me tomorrow.
Same ol', same ol'.
Thankies. And I bring a lot of this on myself, so it's not nearly as bad as I make it out to be. I'm just cranky.
The Hangout is pretty empty for a saturday.
:inout:
Welp. Back from Gamer's. Didn't get a good turnout, but got 3 pretty decent games!
:]
Oh. I just saw them in the game purchase thread :P
Nice!
I should play a game.
But I don't have the energy to play a game.
Therefore, I'm going to sit here, eat potato chips, progressively get drunker as the night goes on, and watch Game of Thrones until I pass out at a rather unreasonable hour, wake up late tomorrow and go to work, to start my life completely anew. If I get drunk enough, I just might buy something useless on eBay. Because why the fuck not.
</rambling>
Surprised today when I got home from work, my Ninja Gaiden PCB arrived! :D My P.O.W. PCB should hopefully arrive this Mon/Tue as well. Arcade PCB collecting, let the insanity commence.
I'd also like to say that if anyone want to get an inexpensive pre-made supergun that the Vogatek MK5 is awesome! Really easy to hookup and it gives an awesome picture through S-Video. As well as being a steal at only ~$65. :top:
Been lacking sleep for the past few days so I'm cutting out early. :bed:
...
And it isn't even 1am yet. I should be proud, but I'm not. Kinda want to play more FE but too sleepy to continue.
Horrible morning, everyone... -_-
As in, automatically.
An IP Bored forum ("Bored" because of all the glitches it causes) has something like that.
A member double posts, but then both posts are automatically merged immediately.
Posting after one's own post adds the text to the post, instead of making a new one, and also bumps the thread.
... That probably makes little sense, no?
Spoiler warning:
You guys watching the Walking Dead? Just finished season 2 and holy shit that was really intense stuff!
Spoiler warning:
REALLY want more but I think I'll wait so I can buy season 3 in the store. Also want to play the game but I'm waiting for the disc release which should come out soon.
Speaking of which, new episode tonight :dancing:
I SO want to watch season 3 but I have to show some restraint! D:
By the way have you seen The Following, Zaladane? They are gonna start airing it here in Sweden next week and I'm kinda curious.
Shouldn't be too much longer. They're on episode 12 tonight and pretty sure it goes to 16. Then whatever time it takes to release it I guess, unless you download it of course.
And sorry never even heard of the Following - shit oh wait is that the Kevin Bacon one? In which case still no.
They I'm guessing a few more months. I just recently bought season 2 because I'm a cheapskate but I'm not sure I can hold out that long for season 3...
Indeed the one with The Bacon. Oh well might give it a try. Not much to view on TV nowadays either way.
