@Sword: Because Microsoft was making HDDVD to compete with Blu-ray. They lost pretty bad obvs.
@blue: Usually the blu-ray is cheaper anyway (I guess because people don't want to break up their mostly DVD collection) and in the case of Season 2 the only official US release so far is a combo pack with blu and dvd.

You know for some reason, every time I click this thread I picture a giant old-fashioned dirigible bus powered by the members peddling giant oldtimey bikes to keep the craft aloft.
