Not really. Compare the Final Fantasy that came out with the PS2, and then Shadow of the Colossus.
They don't even remotely look the same graphics-wise.

And to top it off....
My son bought Counterstrike (Source or whatever), and it's refusing to run on his Vista machine.
And I grew out of consoles. I love customizing and tweaking. I make kind of a big deal out of it when it doesn't take much time to do :D What's sad now is that a PS3 cost more than my first build, which can play nearly any game, minus FEAR, bioshock and a few others. And your so limited on what you can do with it, plus they flatout just don't perform in areas like a PC can. DiRT on my PC? loads a course in 6 seconds. DiRT on the 360? Loads a course in about a minute.
But I'm done with this... So what's new?
I might have fixed the Counterstrike problem. He has the network cable unplugged from the PC and was using it on the 360 while installing CS.
derr..... :P
Sprung, go put something on. Seriously, it's creepy. :dread:
larf larf. I never got why they bothered with CDs on steam games, you have to activate through steam, then you can download it through steam (on any PC at that! ), and unless its a SP only game like HL2, you likely have broadband.
I guess that I should intervene at this point. PC gaming OWNS consoles. A reasonable gaming PC costs the same as an XBox 360 Premium, 1 or 2 games that show the power of the system, another wireless controller, the charging station, 1 year subscription to XBox live and a good HDTV... 42 inchers seem to be the trend where I work... Samsung branded and those are not cheap. And a Nyko cooler. You don't want that damn console dying on you after 6 months! :XD:
Where did I get this info? I WORK selling fucking consoles and I know firsthand the attachment rates of peripherals. And I'm not even throwing in the wireless adapter for the 360...
With that same money I could build a system that would make the PS3 ink in it's pants! Panda, care to do the estimate? Just arrived from work and I don't want to think about prices... :P
Now please somebody compare the total price of that to a custom built system that OWNS the XBox 360 setup I just mentioned...
PC Gaming FTW.
It's a good day.
This is not going to last long.
Myeah, I still prefer to sit a few feet away from the TV when playing games.
Besides, I never really saw a computer as a way to play games outside of emulation, and that's because I like to play my old console favorites. I'd play them on a console with emulator if I could, btw.
Be back in a little bit.
Also, you don't HAVE to buy a big new TV to play consoles. Chances are, you already own one. :P
lol Radeon.
Hmmm, watch The Aviator again, or play Evil Genius?
I understand you... believe me, when I got my first "gaming" PC, I saw what my crappy computer running windows 95 with 4 MB (I believe) of video could do, and what my SNES could do... and the SNES owned the PC... not because of the graphics... because of the quality of the games I was playing.
The game that really hooked me into PC gaming was Age of Empires...
And that's not the most graphical game there is. Oh, and I preferred Doom for the SNES, and Wolfenstein 3D was very, very repetitive.
