I have NEVER cheated on Zelda! She's a very sexy elf babe and I'd never ever cheat on her and I resent that implication! >.>

Well lets see here... this could be interesting.
- Never played a Megaman game. Ever.
- Do not and have never owned a 360, Ps3, or Wii.
- Never beat Earthbound. (Always got to the final boss and quit)
- Traded my first PS2 for a N64 and 10 games. (still regret that one to this day)
- Never owned a Dreamcast tho I've beaten quite a few games for it.
- Never beat any of the 'xxx of Mana' games, though I've played them all.
- I have a 5 year old, 120 hour save file for FF12 but sold it before I beat it. I do intend to beat it eventually.
And the one I'm probably most ashamed of:
- Spent over 200 hours trying to get the perfect ending on FF X-2 without the use of a walkthrough.
So far, you should be proud instead.
That's bad.Quote:
- I traded in my SNES for God knows what.
- I've never beaten Majora's Mask.
Nothing wrong there.Quote:
- I've only owned two handhelds in my entire life: GBA and the DS Lite.
- There was a time when I actually wanted a CD-i. I later came to my senses.
I AM INCREDIBLY DISSAPOINTED IN BOTH OF YOU.
Spoiler warning:
Myself I am guilty of having cheated in Age of Empires 2; never playing Starfox, nor Brawl/Melee because I never owned the consoles they belong in. I never owned a SNES so I missed out on SMWorld, LTTP, Donkey Kong... all the big names from Ninty.
Fixed that with ZSNES hahaha.
What I regret most is not playing Ikaruga/Mushihime Sama.
Well... I think I have a pretty bad one.
I really enjoy Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 for whatever reason... I'm not entirely too sure why and can accept it's crappyness, but I still really enjoy it.
Owned a NES chinese knock off (with a light gun) and played Super Mario Bros on it.
About 6 or 7 years ago i've given away all of the pc games i owned to friends and relatives and the only title i regret giving away
was - Dark Reign:Future of war.
Never beaten any of the MGS games.
Neither have I.
... really? REALLY?!
Did you trade it, or did your parents?
If the latter, than this is acceptable. Not good, but acceptable.
If the former... you are a bad, bad person.
Neither have I. It's not a terrible game, I just don't like it. I can understand the appeal, it just doesn't appeal to me.
I've also neither beaten any of the Zelda games for the DS. Because I do not like them. At all. :disgust:
You're honestly not missing much with the handhelds. I've only ever owned a GBC, GBA and DS. I played the GBC quite a bit, rarely played my GBA, and hardly ever play my DS. I'm probably going to attempt to sell it next year.
@Final Fantasy: you and a lot of people. Honestly, although it was popular before Final Fantasy VII, that's the game where it really "took off," so to speak.
@Earthbound: I think this can be said of a lot of people. I've never played it, either, and the only friends of mine who have, have emulated it.
@Mega Man: honestly, just play Megaman X. That's my favourite, and arguably the best. All of them have pretty much the same formula; if you've played one, you've played them all. :lol
@Donkey Kong: the original arcade versions, or the platformers?
Yes it is. It's AWFUL.Quote:

1. I often put off gaming (even so far as stopping and turning off a game while playing) to role-play in messengers, mIRC, etc.
2. I have never played Majora's mask, Twilight Princess, Zelda 2, or any of the handheld versions... only the original Zelda, Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time.
3. I -hate- Earthbound, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy 13, The new DS version of Lufia.
4. I wasted nearly 120 hours on Final Fantasy VII playing JUST the snowboarding mini-game.
5. Watched my brother play Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (sp) twice... was completely disgusted by the game.
6. Erhgeiz : God Bless The Ring's Storymode (where you dungeon crawl for loot and stuff) is one of my biggest addictions in gaming.
7. I hit level 50 on RIFT and completely dropped the MMO because of utter boredom
8. I believe (and no one will ever change my mind) that World of Warcraft is one of, if not the, worst pay to play MMO EVER (behind Final Fantasy 14 and APB).
9. I have beaten -every- US released Romance of the Three Kingdoms game to date at least 3 times, using a different ruler each time.
10. I loved Dynasty Warriors 7
11. I -want- to commit a serious sin/crime against Tecmo-Koei atm... for making the next Monster Rancher game a damn cellphone game. >_> Talk about bitch slapping your fan base?
12. I own and have beaten the storylines for Monster Rancher 1 & 2, Monster Rancher Adavnce 1&2, Monster Rancher 4 and Monster Rancher DS
13. I -hate- Monster Rancher EVO... it's a horrible, horrible game (but I do own it).
14. I beat Monster Rancher Advance 2's storyline in under 7 hours before, starting a brand new game with no cheats active. XD
Okay, I'll stop there... XD
Gaming sins? What I would write here, I would not considered gaming "sins", but I'm willing to bet plenty of people will call me sinful:-
- I've never played a Legend of Zelda game outside of Link to the Past and Minish Cap and I do not understand the reason why this game is so loved, especially since the title has nothing to do with the main character himself. In addition, I do not see the appeal of Ocarina of Time etc and have often asked myself, "Why do people keep worshipping Ocarina of Time as the best game ever? What I see is a weird game with a stroy that has been recycled over 9000 times and is still praised while games like Megaman gets insulted for being formulaic, eventhough the story changes alot most of the games".
- lolAeris. I might've enjoyed FFVII when I was younger because it being a game I've never seen before (this was back in 98' - 99'), but like Ocarina of Time, I cannot see why people hypes this game to be "the bestest evar!1111". One-Winged Angel is a decent song, but I would hardly call it epic.
- I cannot understand the appeal of Smash Bros. game, and in trying the game itself, I do not find myself impressed by it, but annoyed since it's a party game that's trying to be a fighting game but failing miserably. In addition, they're putting in characters like Mario who cannot legitimately fight other than being a hax(giant mushroom) and stomping on people's heads, and being that he's arguably one of the main characters of the game, being I'm guessing the most balanced on all playable charactera.
- an actual sin, I went through Pokemon Red/Blue's Elite 4 with 6 Lvl 100 Pokemons using the Rare Candy cheat. I did. however legitimately beat most of the game without it.
- I've not gotten any gaming console in over 10 years with my Saturn being my last official one until I got my PSP early this year.
....This post turned into a rant rather quick.
It was the first 3D Zelda game. Much like FFVII was the first 3D Final Fantasy.
Wholeheartedly agreed. Although some of the stories in Classic Megaman suck. It still is my favorite franchise ever, nonetheless.
Again, agreed, although I've never particularly enjoyed it, after finding out the number of people to call it "the best ever" has turned my indiference into hatred.Quote:

Seven years here; parents refused to buy me any after the PS1 and given I live in one of the world's furthest corners and everything electronic is ridiculously overpriced here, I couldn't afford to buy anything else until last year when I bought my PSP 3000 for about $1600 (roughly 400 U$D).Quote:

Yeah yeah I know, the post ain't related at all to gaming sins. My bad.
I would still say that Mega Man is more formulaic than Zelda. Or most games, actually. When you look at the original Mega Man series, the story is pretty much the same across the entire thing. When you look at the X series, the story does evolve a little bit more, but again is pretty much the same thing, up until the later games.
Not saying that Zelda isn't formulaic as well, but it's not quite as formulaic as Mega Man. Also, I found the "puzzle" aspects of the Zelda series add to the game play a lot more than the overused Mega Man platforming did. Again, this is just me. If I had to choose a favourite series out of the two, I would definitely pick Zelda, just because you get more out of the game than you do out of Mega Man. It's also evolved more than Mega Man has, over the years. Whether or not Ocarina of Time is the "best game evar!@!@" is completely debatable. I personally consider it one of my favourites, but more for "nostalgia" reasons than anything else. I still think Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are superior games to Ocarina of Time, and chances are they will continue to improve upon the franchise over time.
I find the appeal of Smash Bros. lies in the multiplayer aspect. I rarely played the game outside of multiplayer, and had a blast every time that my buddies and I were playing it. Whether it's better than a typical fighting game is, again, debatable -- there are a lot of people that don't like traditional fighting games. Smash Bros. filled a niche for those people. It's the same kind of thing with the Mario Party games -- utterly boring games when played alone, but loads of fun when played with a group of people.
I think everyone did at one point. That's the only way I could ever "catch" all 150 Pokemon. Other than going through the Elite Four repeatedly, there was really no good way to level up Pokemon otherwise. The wild ones were all either too weak to really justify leveling up with (pretty much every route other than Victory Road), or too strong (Victory Road). Again, this was just my experience... I really liked the introduction of the Vs. Seeker to the series -- it made leveling up and rebuilding teams a lot easier.
My gaming sins:
-I've never played a mmorp
-All my pikmin died on the first boss in pikmin 2
Attachment 25292
Yeap that's all I can think of. Everything else I've done is completely legal. I'm surprised nobody put trying to look up Ashley's skirt in resident evil 4
I suppose that would be one of my "sins," as well. I've never played an MMORPG. Nor do I ever intend to. :ignore:
It's so informative to read these and realize just how much I haven't done.
I went through some GBA games with Gameshark codes, if that would count as a sin.
Heck, gameshark codes are the only thing that makes the Megaman Battle Network series beatable in a day, and that's what I needed when I started looking into Gameshark codes.
Hello, I'm new to this forum.
Regarding Gaming Sins, I've got a few really bad ones.
I won't buy a system until it's security has been compromised in a way that serves the End User. Be it a flash cart, a firmware hack, or an emulator, I just wont pony up the cash for it unless it's hacked. This brings me to my second sin. I pirate way too much. I'm sure it's an unhealthy habit, but it's just so much fun. Having a copy of every game ever made for a system regardless of it's age is just made of awesome. That leads into my third sin, I don't play any of them. I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to play any of them. For me the fun is getting them all (and hacking all the systems) and finishing out a collection.
~ I cut off the rest of the post since it's just a load of examples and a manifest of my collections ~
I get a kick out of one-shotting RPG bosses with 'tricks', such as using Life on undead, a mass instant-death spell (usually requires a bit of luck), or, much less frequently, the horror that is only whispered...
...Vanish/Doom.
In my defense, I have beaten all the bosses the 'legit' way, probably enough times to add up to a double-digit number. So I think I'm entitled to saving a few minutes here and there :)
Aside from that, I can't really think of many other gaming sins. I'm usually pretty boring and follow all the general guidelines.
I guess many worship some the games I will mention so it is probably a sin for not playing them properly.
Seems they didn't catch my attention for some reason, probably a good one.
Anyways, I've never beaten Finaly Fantasy VIII. Why? Dunno. Started it couple of times, played for few hours, never went too far. It's just the silly graphics that turned me off.
And I actually I like FF series since I've beaten most of the tittles or at least played most of them, except couple.
If you consider that RPG is my favorite genre, it was expected of me, but it never really attracted me. My first attempt at playing FFVII was 2 - 3 yrs ago. Blame me.
I actually never beaten epics like Zelda, Megaman, Sonic or such.
Some of them I played, but never till the end. It was just the opportunity that I never had since first console I owned was PSX and emulators I got when I had the least amount of time for gaming.
And don't get me wrong, I'm hardcore gamer (at least I was), and I cheer for the oldschool gameplay/2D/music against newschool gfx games (-.-'), but mostly financial situation kept from owning most games I ever wanted. Now that they're available online, I don't have time.
Sincerely, was never appealed for the COMMERCIAL successful games. Suikoden FTW ˘˘
I never beat any megaman game or Xenogears without cheats :(
but I do have Xenogears from PSN so I can fix that one :D
I haven't played any FF games except 1,2,3. don't know if i ever will, but RPG's are all getting repetitive for me, all the stories are starting to run together and Ialways know what to expect. for example, i'm just now playing Tales of Symphonia, (warning, spoiler in story)Spoiler warning:
another, and more like a real gaming sin, i tend to restart games periodically before i even beat it once. most particularly RPG's. if i realize i missed something that can only be obtained once, i have a strong urge to just start over, no matter how far i've gotten. so that leads to my other sinning habits, i tend to do 'slight' reading at gamefaqs.
I got a used ds game and it had a save file of the game already beat, so I claimed I beat it ^.^
I have to keep reminding even myself that I never beat kingdom hearts for the ds(forgot whole title but has the *days*)
two spring to mind:
playing xenogears, i got emotionally attached to a game for the first time, didn't save it, got to the point where you fight an unwinable fight, and of course, got killed, had played for like nine hours getting everyones stuff at the time maxed, only had up to four? caracters at the time, and hadn't saved. seen max damage flash on the screen twice, and promptly died. i threw the controller, cried, and went for a walk. came back an hour later, only to find out it was a scripted event and had to happen.
Star ocean till the end of time. can beat all the uberbosses but freya for some reason. i just lose intrest for some reason. fighting lenneth made me feel the same way, maybe its because they're chibi? at lenneth i actually had to get better at playing the game, but freya... made an uber fayt setup on galaxy and still went through half of my health items, healing him from his battle skills... screw freya.
I'm seriously thinking of just watching a playthrough of FF7 because I can't seem to push through the game. :-/
My gaming sins...
walkthroughs especially as soon as I hit a wall...
...
And 85% of the games I played...it never reaches the end boss. I get bored of it easily at some point especially when I level up hard for days...
And I'm a scaredy cat when it comes horror games, I never get past 30 minutes...except for silent hill 4 I manage to get 2-3 hours.
Lol, I used a cheat to get Deaths scythe on Caslevania CoD....Deaths Pulse is just too hard to steal.
Then i wrecked tha rest of the game, lol.
I lol'd. I might have mentioned it before but I have the opposite problem. I buy so many lengthy games and then they all just sit there for awhile cause I don't want to start them. Then once I do I generally play it non-stop until finish even if it's pretty bad.
I never thought that FFVII was all that great, and did not even blink an eye when Aeris bit the dust. I also used her English name.
Not only did I play Combat Arms, I hacked the shit out of it.
Although I thoroughly enjoy the presentation and story of the Silent Hill series, I don't enjoy playing the games, or even watching videos of other people playing them all that much simply because I know that overcoming the terrible controls is the only real challenge in the game.
Using walkthrough would probably be my biggest gaming sin.
And being a trophy/ achievement whore ...
Hack the thing and the sin goes away and turns into a virtue.
It's a good game. One of my favorites.
I got stuck at one boss playing as the dog.
The Master's quest on the 3ds version is actually harder than the n64 version as I heard you take double damage. Which kinda makes me want a 3ds.
I didn't like FFXII much but it grew on me on my second playthrough.
DQ8 FTW.
The Water temple didn't bother me much either and it has started growing on me as well.
There have been times I have not played games at all either, just the periods weren't 8 years.
LTTP OOT MM LA WW TP OOA OOS MC ST that seems much more than only a few as the worst zelda is Zelda 2 (not including cdi). Phantom Hourglass was decent, but not great and zelda 1 is great but is showing age. All the others are easily worth buying even in this age where you can download them.
I just recently bought a DC and need some dough to buy a memory card for it.
The wii has the worst good to shovelware ratio. While the ds has a similar ratio, it has many more games which make up for it. Same for the PS2 which has some crappy titles mixed in with it's jewels
N64 still had a better ratio compared to wii as did the gamecube. But saying that the Snes was the only good console is a bit harsh. Their best yes, but not their only good. Not to mention that none of their consoles are even inherently bad, it is Nintendo's handling of them. Even now games like Xenoblade being withheld from us markets. It's like they want us to only have shovelware.
The problems with older games is their focus. Nes focused on difficulty and was more based on shorter play cycles mixed with high replay value. If you can get past the graphics and focus on shorter play cycles, you tend to like the games more.
What did you do to warrant such a horrible punishment?
How did you ever manage to not get caught?
I've done that before (both things). I tend to be great at many games my siblings suck at even though I am only an average player. Also I used to have a bad chewing habit. I was like the baby from Series of Unfortunate Events.
Once you get past the girliness, you realize the gameplay is great. It is a shame they defaced Yuna and party though.
Majora's Mask is great! Take him to the pit!
Him too! Majora's mask was even better than OOT. TP isn't emo either unless you're going by it's original usage to show when something had a lot of emotions, usually positive.
Yes, you are, now repent or go to the Pit!
-You have never played OOT and yet you judge it? While it isn't the best game (what game can actually be the best?) it is a great game that has changed many lives and in the process of aging has held up magnificently. Many games looked the best at their time and now look like shit, Zelda still amazes me to this day. Also consider the fact that Mario and Zelda have had such a huge impact on the gaming industry. Without them the gaming industry might not have recovered after E.T..
- I do agree with you on FFVII. It was a decent game, but most who call it the Best Evar haven't actually played other games from the genre to make that judgement. Same with Halo and Cod.
- Super Smash bros. is made for two or more players. It wasn't made for tournament play, but for party play i.e. fun. Don't lump it in with all of those crappy party games though. Also it is at it's best when you are playing against your friends right on the same couch. Local multiplayer FTW. It's like calling out Mario Kart for not playing like a nascar game. Smash bros. is random and fun while other fighting games are competitive for tournament play. Same with Mario kart as it is for fun while other racing games are for tournament. Playing either outside of their environment and style makes them seem lacking.
I am quite the ranter myself.
I tend never to finish any game I get. Especially RPGs. Megaman and Zelda are the exceptions, since I love them so much and have beaten almost every Megaman game and most Zelda games. Outside of that, I never usually finish them.
An example of this is that I've played every Final Fantasy game and only beaten 3. Most other times I stop in the middle, or even get to the final boss and end up dying every time and thus give up. (FFs beaten = FF6 [the best one], FFX, and FF1)
I became a game Programmer to be able to make games I don't suck at without cheating.
Worst Gaming Sin's...
Using a walk-through more than I should at the slightest hint of Challange.
Not owning a PS3 or xBox360
Only ever beating ONE Final Fantasy (it was VII as well, tho I got to the Final dungeon in IVDS, but it was too hard. Damn Japanese Difficulty.I got the Anthology Ver. Tho, So I'll beat the game using that one)
The fact that my favorite series of games is Co-Created with Disney (Kingdom Hearts is Awesome (even if a little depressing at times)I love it so, so much)
Never Beating a Dragon Quest game (Got mid-way through VIII and IX tho)
and... Never beating a Shin Megami Tensei game outside of the Persona series (Persona 3/4 are GREAT games, I love'em to bits!)
Oh, and catching Poke fever in the last 2 years (It's like a drug, once you get hooked, You can't get off'em)
If possible I do cheat to get incredibly rare items I just don't have the time to grind for. It doesn't really take away anything from the game for me, because it is just time that wouldn't have been spent otherwise. Like recently I've been playing Borderlands, and instead of grinding/getting lucky for good weapons drops, and pearlscent weapons I use a program called willow tree to take a crap version of a weapon and make it maximum best possible by changing some of the gun parts and prefixes. Example I found an Atlas Ogre rifle that was originally 324 and modified some parts to make it 449 which is the highest possible they can spawn in game. Technically its a perfectly legit weapon, but the means I used to obtain it isn't legit. But nobody has to know otherwise. I don't spend a lot of time on the tedious stuff.
I bought Final Fantasy XIII and had actually convinced myself it was fun. I was denial for quite a bit with that one.
For me it's not necessarily that it isn't fun. It's kinda interesting and different of a battle system at first. Quickly though, you realize how tedious and annoying it becomes and you get sick of it. This is long after when you realized how shallow and absolutely linear the storyline is. -This- is SquareEnix's biggest gaming sin of all time: Final Fantasy 13.
I Kinda enjoyed the Marine Campaign of the new age AvP :dread:
god, mine has to be majora's mask... it took me 7 years just to freaking figure out that the first temple that you had to set fire to the web... I was so damn mad i tried everything just to slash it. UNTIL I PLAYED OOT. (majora's mask was my first zelda) I got so freaking mad (insert Fuuuuuuuuuu- face here) -_-
I hate puzzles in video games, period. Especially those stupid block ones like in Wild Arms games. Those are some seriously hard block puzzles, especially some of those in Wild Arms 3. I just use a guide for stuff like that and don't waste a lot of time with it. Also the sliding ice block puzzles in Alundra were pretty hard too. I would have never figured that out without a guide.
But from what I have seen the puzzles in Zelda games are some of the easier ones and almost never need a guide for those.
