That would work best on an complete engine imo but the tapping the piston is ideal for removing stuck piston when everything's apart also your method might not work if several pistons are stuck, you would then have to remove the crankshaft and start tapping :)Quote:

I used it on an old 67 Mustang I bought years ago. The car had been sitting for years, and the pistons were stuck. I soaked them all for about 3 days, and charged the battery. It took a while, but bumping the starter broke everything free after a while :PQuote:
