Probably, I dunno.

I remember finding it funny when I replayed Final Fantasy VII in Japanese recently. Barret's speech style is more or less the same as Zell's. But Zell is translated as a hot-headed but generally reasonably well spoken kid, whereas Barret... somehow became a stereotypical black guy who can't speak in anything but eubonics. Racist translators are racist.
Note: I feel obliged to clarify that I do actually know that it's "je m'appelle". My French is bad, but it's not that bad.
I realise that so much of it is completely dumb, both in terms of the utterly insane, "let's just throw in anything that comes to mind" plot and the completely broken gameplay mechanics. Which is why I used to be pretty down on it myself. But in recent years, something about it has just kind of grabbed me. ^^;;; One of these games that you love without really being able to justify why you love it, I guess. :'D
I felt it was the case. Didn't care because I was shootan stuff with a arm cannon. I mean, it's a black man with the arm cannon *was like a sparkling, pixelated idol* (but I had the skill that lets you copy other skills and set it to Barret, making him a one man army)
I'm bored
Guess I'll go find Tiamat or Palenque in La-Mulana's remake.
And get enough ammo for the Pistol so that I can defeat one of them.
I had to use a Pistol just to beat Viy, even though I finished him off with the Katana.
so, any games to suggest? i need ideas for my first lonplay
Should've known it was that. It's like the standard response of emo/tormented protagonists.
Well, that and なんでもない。気にしないで。Looking at you, Tear. And pretty much everyone in Tales of the Abyss. THE GAME WHERE EVERYONE HAS A DARK PAST, THEY MUST BE HANDING THEM OUT LIKE CANDY
I don't think I'll take Tiamat on yet, not without the Dimensional Key. And to get that I'll need to find it someplace. So I guess it's Palenque who will fall first
Apparently "Squall" is an embarrasing name.
That, or Radiant Garden, where he lived, got corrupted by the Heartless and he changed his name.
I'm guessing.
My childhood was neither. It was Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Seriously. I remember playing it and being like "Well at least there's Guy~ He's just a nice, down to earth guy who happens to be afraid of women". Then you find out he actually planned on killing Luke once upon a time. Oh.
Still kind of love it, though. It's melodrama, but it's fun melodrama. ^^;;;
I know, it used to be my favorite 3D Tales until Graces rolled around. Still love it and might even replay it one day.
However, the part after Luke blows up that town by accident and everyone pretty much abandons him/calls him the scum of the earth at a time when they should be giving him support was just too much for me at the time. WAY TO BE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE FRIENDS, GUYS
I know, right? I mean I know the kid's been a massive jerkass, but... like... he's been incredibly sheltered his whole life? And he's young? Cut the guy a little bit of slack. :'D Then again, given that most of the characters in TotA are kind of massive jerks, their reaction pretty much makes sense.
If Graces bested Abyss as your favourite 3D Tales, then it must be played at some point. High praise indeed! :3
I give up.
Tonight, I won't be beating any Guardians in La-Mulana's remake. -_-
