The New Executive Order: The government can sieze all assets.

Basically, the latest executive order, assuming congress doesn't kill it, will allow the Secretary of the Treasury to sieze all your money, deeds, and titles to vehicles if you pose a risk to undermine the war effort. The reason I think that this is absolute tyranny is because everything you own can be taken away from you if you even so much as complain about the war.

What is wrong is that if this is not shot down by congress, it will become law and all future presidents will be able to intimidate the American public into doing what it wants. Democracy as we know it will be dead.

That's about how I feel. I don't think that it's very likely that Congress WON'T kill the order, but I find the fact that Bush (and/or his administration) would even try to pull something like this appalling.

Absolutely. As much as I still like to believe that President Bush has good intentions about this country, he never seems to think about the Constitutionality of his actions (or the morality for that matter). I'm not one of those conspiracy theorists that think the Bush administration is some grand scheme to turn the US into a dictatorship... but Bush seems to be just stupid enough to make it one on .:Cookie: :cookie:
