Probably because they put far more effort into the kart racer than the actual game. At least, that's my explanation for why MK Armageddon was so awful. :wacko: Seriously, I never played Deception but Deadly Alliance was great. What the fuck happened?

I can understand them trying new things, and have no real issue with that, its just a case of, i think they tried to hard when that 3D SF came out, then SC and then Tekken.

MK3 was AMAZING, If they had just kept on going that way, they would of been WAY ahead of the trend nowdays.

MK was and is the best arcade fighting game, everyone has time for MK :wacko:

But yeah your right, i was playing SF4 on the Xbox, and i wasnt allowed to use Ryu, so i went Ken, then Ken got banned, so i used Dan, then that school yard chick Suka or some shit, then Akuma.
Basicly the same move sets.

Capcom didn't actually make the 3D SF games, which is why none of the original characters from it have ever ended up back in the main SF games (and why its story is non-canon, even in something as loose as SF).

As far as I remember, they messed up a little on MK4.
Then they improved a little.(Deadly Alliance, Deception)
Then back again.(MK: Armageddon, despite currently playing it.)

Not to mention MK: Shaolin Monks.

I like to keep my memories of MK the way they are by just playing only MK1-2 over the years. :wacko:

Strange how you can play MK1-2-3 and they still look right, but 4 looks outdated as fuck.

Yeah, MK 1-3 were great. I don't remember 4 being too bad at the time but it's aged horribly. Although I was 10, so that may have had something to do with it. :wacko:

I'll try Deception one of these days. I only had a Gamecube back then and that version never came out over here. :frown:

But then again, Quan Chi. He ruins everything. So perhaps it's better this way.

The move to 3D sort of killed it back then. The new MK is hella fun, but part of me wishes they'd make an old school 2D game on the new systems, as in hire a bunch of martial arts professionals and do the bluescreen thing again. That would be great in HD.

Gamecube version is better.
Shao Kahn and Goro are playable.
The only thing I disliked a bit, is that Noob Saibot is constantly in a "tag battle".

I had dial-up in 2001 I think and then in 2003 or 2004 I got broadband, I barely remember dial-up.

And it seems we've got another Mexican on board in this forum.

Dialup was hilarious. Five and a half hours spent downloading the music video for Slipknot's Left Behind. Did I mention my ISP would cut the connection every two hours?
