Yes, but if you lose power to your hydraulic brakes, the handbrake is a physical cable. It's practically fool proof. Hence why if you don't have any other braking power, you can at least rely on the handbrake.

At least your going to get driving lessons, i got put in the drivers seat and basically told to drive :qq: it worked through and i have crashed yet, the trick with a manual is to maintain engine speed as you release the clutch this way you start for smoothly with out stalling

When you feel it start to pull, stop letting out on the clutch and give it a bit more gas until it gets rolling. Then let it the rest of the way out. Problem solved.

*all I've driven since I was 18 is 5-speeds. :P
