I never really counted my job towards any level of exercise I do but I suppose it counts because I can be on my feet all day.
Today though I had cake in work that someone made and brought in.
Mix of both. Don't want to be obese and as self hating in a year or two when my niece is growing up. ^-^
Aww, sounds like a good incentive to lose weight. ^^;;; I know from talking to a couple of friends who are working to lose weight that sometimes just the fact that "it's healthy" isn't enough motivation on its own, and that sometimes you need that little something to give you a push and get you started. So it's good that you have that target of being healthier and happier in two years' time for your niece's sake to keep you driven and motivated. ^^;;; I'm lucky in that being mostly vegan plus having what I assume must be a fairly fast metabolism has meant that I've never had to deal with obesity myself (though there have been times where depression has pushed me to stop eating and I've slipped towards the other end of the spectrum), but I can definitely sympathise with the whole self-loathing thing. And I know that exercise has always helped me there. ^^;;; I always feel much, much better about myself after a long walk or playing some sports, and I've always felt like it's one of the best means of maintaining mental health as well as physical. Hopefully it'll be just as positive for you! Good luck! ^_^
@Tassadar Re: accidental cake eating, my girlfriend is one of the chefs at a Japanese and Korean restaurant here where they also make their own cakes and desserts. Usually they sell out, as they make them fresh in quite limited quantities each day, and they tend to be quite popular because they're all Japanese / Korean influenced desserts that you can't find in many other places in the city. But whatever doesn't sell she gets to bring home. And there was one day when none of the customers who came had seemed that keen on dessert for whatever reason, and we wound up with like eight generously sized portions of green tea tiramisu in our fridge that needed to be eaten. Tried not to think too hard about how many calories that was. :'D Being in close proximity to somebody who regularly makes sweet things is dangerous (and often delicious) business.
I need to post here more. I keep missing people :(
