Not exactly true. Abandonware is still copyright infringement. Copyrights are valid until they expire. Four more of the caps in my gf's compy have popped. The computer remains functional, but it really bothers me that there is something wrong.

Sounds like there's something wrong with the power, then. Either the voltage settings in her BIOS/elsewhere are off, or her electricity at home is wonky.

I actually thought the second one. The light over my head flickers all day long and two outlets on completely different walls will go out randomly. I highly doubt BIOS has ever been touched.
