Losing so much money, that's why they keep making them. As a favour to us gamers.

I've had the same 360 and PS3s, no trouble aside from when I bought them (360 was rrod, the BC ps3 had the disc drive mis-aligned or some shit) both were cheap fixes.

I'm just glad that they make them. The alternative would be worse

And on topic, my latest purchase, Dragon Age II.

Still have to start the first one

This despite the fact that I have played my Saturn for hundreds of hours more, used the swap trick on it dozens of times, and played mostly backups burned to really crappy low grade media.

Then again, considering every Sony console I have ever had except my PSP has died on me, I'm beginning to think Sony as a company just hate me. :'D
Of course, it also helps that Saturns used CDs while PS3s use Blu-Ray. When you reduce the target from 500 nm to 100 nm and make variable depth resolution important to permit multi-layer discs, things understandably tend to get more finicky about accuracy. Such is the endless march of progress, I suppose.

Yeah, I kind of figured as much, but "half my discs" sadly includes the couple of audio CDs I also tested when it refused to read the game I was playing. So I'm inclined to say it's less a problem of technology and more one of my having... extremely rotten luck. :'D

Yeah lasers readers will just eventually wear out. Had it happen with a couple ps2s. :/

So I thought Meruru was going to ship...I don't even know what's going on at this point. I'm calling tomorrow.

Technically Amnesia, Limbo, Psychonauts and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP for Steam via Humble Bundle.

Really only the last two, since I already had the first two.

Traded in 7 games to GameStop and I got $128 for them.

Bought 3 games and preordered 2.

    Bought:

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (Signature Edition | PS3)

Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns (DS)

    and Pokemon Platinum. (DS)

And pre-oredered Black Ops 2, and Borderlands 2. I didn't wanna get BO2 that much, but I got it 'cause my dad wanted it REALLY badly. So I thought, meh.

Oh well I'm happy with what I got, really excited for Borderlands 2.

So I signed up for Playstation Plus the other day when I heard that they were going to be adding a lot more full-length retail titles as free downloads.

    Just grabbed:

    Just Cause 2
    Infamous 2
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
    Warhammer 40K: Space Marine
    Saints Row 2
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
    Hard Corps: Uprising
    Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown

    And yesterday I grabbed:
    Rock of Ages
    Awesomenauts
    Trine 2
    Fatal Inertia EX
    Battle Fantasia

I think the $50 I paid for my one year subscription to PS+ just paid off.

... I'm going to need a bigger HDD.

    [ edit ] Oh, and LittleBigPlanet 2.

Not sure how many of these I'm going to play, but I figured I might as well grab them anyways, since they're free. And it'll keep me from going to the store and grabbing random games for the next little bit while I attempt to save some money.

Free games for signing up to a console service? Never heard of that before. Thats a good reason to consider getting a PS3 instead of a new Xbox 360

EDIT: Bought WWE Crush Hour. Could be a laugh, but I reckon its just going to be rubbish.
