Default Is a AMD A4-5000M APU ok for general internet use

Been asked to recommend a budget laptop for general internet use including streaming TV content

So this is not going to be a gaming machine

    More specs

    OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: AMD Quad-Core A4-5000M APU (1.5 GHz, 2 MB cache)
    RAM: 4 GB DDR3
    GPU: AMD Radeon HD 8330

I'm sure that will be fine but thought to check here anyway, to be honest think it will be better than what I have, that is just a basic laptop, but I am not familiar enough with Windows 8 to know if the OS would want more to do anything outside basic OS features

    Mod projects - XBOX
Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 & 2 - online quests in offline mode packs [COMPLETE]
    [Quest Packs Collection]
GTA San Andreas - Hot Coffee [COMPLETE]
[Mod ready] & [Full ISO ready]
GTA San Andreas - Real Car Names extra content mod [WIP] [Back burner, just won't have the time ]
Please can all ESR users post your results here to help with the project and others wanting to use ESR

I've got an older laptop (around 2008-2009-ish) running Win7 that does netflix & high res youtube fine without stutter; thing only has 3gb of ram and maybe a 1.7ghz dual core in it. From what I've read Windows 8 is supposed to have very similar system requirements as Windows 7, so I imagine that shouldn't make much of a difference. Unless they're using a more resource intensive video service than those it'll probably run fine.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

    Should be fine.
I'm using a budget dual core AMD laptop (not a netbook but nearly as small and no optical drive, has a 11.6" screen). Not for gaming but I can recode video, run downloads or watch youtube in HD at the same time with no problems.

My specs just as a comparison:
    OS: Windows 7 sp1
    CPU: AMD Dual-Core E450 (1.65 GHz)
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3
    GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6320

Only thing that has been done to it is maxing out the ram as it came with only 2GB originally.
As the unit you're talking about has 4GB I'm not really sure if increasing the ram would be necessary not an expensive exercise anyway.

Yeah, an A4 should be more than enough. Honestly the biggest bottleneck there will probably be the HDD speed
Its around the same as the early i3 mobile series, in benchmarks

Thankies already got the laptop (got it yesterday) and set it up for him, though on call for any issues, he is over 70. the machine seems to run very smoothly for his uses so I'm happy if he is.

Don't revive threads over a month old. Especially not one where you have nothing to add.
