You actually need an xbox 360 console to play xbox 360 games.

And if you want to play backups then you'll need custom firmware for the optical drive, or JTAG (if it's an older model......more info.), or you could possibly try an exploit, or you can use a device like Xkey along with an external HDD to load images.


Flashing the DVD drive with custom firmware is probably the most popular method.

No there is no such thing as a 360 emulator, there isn't even basic development

before you ask there is no PS3 emulator either

There is Wii/GameCube and PS2 being the only ones that are newish consoles to have working emulation of, but you do require a very good system to be able to take advantage of those at a good speed... Dreamcast is also emulated rather well
