Problem Burning BIN and CUE format roms for modded Saturn

Hi All,

I just joined the forum and I had a question about burning a few Saturn backups.

Last night I attempted to burn both Megaman X4 and Quake and each time the Saturn either read the disc as an audio CD or stated that the disc was unsuitable. I have been using Alcohol 120%, setting it on DAO/SAO and selecting the slowest speed.

I am sort of new at this, but on my old PC I was able to make copies of Shining Force III, Street Fighter Alpha II, Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Guardian Heroes and these all work with no problems. Should I be using Nero? Is my format selection wrong? Or are these files just not set up right for burning backups from.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

just use IMGburn, defaults

The issue maybe just a corrupted CD Image though... don't worry though this can be fixed easy enough

Anyway best to check the disc images over with CD-Mage chances are there is atleast one sector corrupted thankfully CDmage can fix that

Just downloaded Iron Storm...unfortunately the file is an MDF/MDS, IMGburn wont touch it and CD-Mage doesn't recognize it, lol.

That's the last thing you want to do with old console images like Saturn games.

ISO = single track, no audio.

I'd recommend mounting the image with Daemon Tools and re-ripping it to BIN/CUE using CDRWin or CCD/IMG/SUB using CloneCD.

It's not hard to convert it from MDF/MDS into a format you can use...

Stand alone converting I would recomend ISObuster the free version is fine, just save as bin

Daemon Tools is also a very good method, and you can just use IMGburn to rerip from the virtual drive also in bin+cue format

recomended tools in general

CDMage (Free) [Check CD Images for errors and repair them]
ISObuster (Free function only needed) [Great software for re-ripping CD/DVD Images to more common Images aswell as surface scanning CD's and DVD's for read errors]
IMGburn (Free) [Great software for both ripping and burning CD's and DVD's]
Daemon Tools (Free Lite version) [Nice tool for using CD/DVD images as if they had been burned onto whatever media and inserted into your PC CD/DVD rom drive (aka virtual CD/DVD rom drive)]

You can't go wrong with those tools

So is it safe to say if CDmage finds 80,000 errors and can't repair a single one of them, that the image is corrupted beyond use?

I still wonder if there isn't a problem with my laptop's DVD RW drive or the CD-Rs I'm using...I almost got Iron Storm to work burning it with Alcohol but it wouldn't get past the Sega screen...

I would of guessed more at the CD images, though as with most consoles you do need high grade CD's for the best results
