Your correction has been noted. I'll stick with saying it didn't do very well, but amend it to "didn't do very well FOR ME".

Game was an utter hell to play

I think it was quite enjoyable, different to other games in the franchise, but enjoyable and with an original and fun battle system

And to be on topic, cos this is not about how good/bad was FF XIII, I wouldn't mind seeing the FF XII remake, even if it's not that old. A quality HD remake, 60fps, 1080p, with trophies wouldn't be a bad idea. We've seen less interesting HD remakes being made lately..

I like X, to be honest.

Well, I did. After trying it again, I couldn't get past the poorly told story and god awful dubbing. It has the best battle system of any FF game and I did like a good chunk of the cast (Wakka was fun, damn it), but I can't enjoy it like I used to. And if Dissidia is any indication, they won't be any improvements even if there were re-writes.

Me? Off-topic? How dare you, I'm alw- SQUIRREL!

At any rate, I"m not sure if I would like to see a remake of XII. If I'm honest, the characters in that were bland, the story fairly well-done, but too predictable, and there really was nothing else to do but combat. A trap that XIII also fell into. I understand it, but I don't much like it.

So yeah, on balance, I don't dislike the idea of a remake of FFX. Would've preferred VII, but X will do.

I guess I'd be the same there actually. maybe wherever the game was tedious (random battles, for example) maybe do something different there. I'm idealizing everything of course... I don't think I dig remakes at all. I still have all these games. I'd be lying though, if I said I don't become interested when I see the characters/scenery redone and made all pretty-like.

It feels like since Square got a lot of intention for their lush environments etc, they've made it the main focus and the stories have gone to the pooper (I'm thinking Final Fantasy here).

This is in another direction but I loved a game called Final Fantasy Adventure (on gameboy, the game that comes before Secret of Mana). It was a very basic story/script but they remade it for Gameboy Advance. They gave it graphics like Secret of Mana (alright I guess.. it did look tasty), reworked the soundtrack and made the script a bit more engaging. However, they also made the script more hip to appeal to a younger crowd (eg. now everyone has an attitude). I don't know where I'm going with this but I don't think I've played a remake that I enjoyed - it barely contains the essence of the original and... arg! by all means they should just milk it for all it's worth. They need their bread money...

Anything but XII, my reasoning is much the same as Robotnik's. I didn't like any of the characters .

Yet the game was far more enjoyable with the Zodiac Job System release.

If we could get a remake of that version, with the extra hunt stuff and whatnot? That'd be fantastic. Both because I enjoyed the combat and because more people getting a chance to play ZJS is never a bad thing.

As for the X remake, it'll probably just be a lazy upscale, SE doesn't seem the type to go the whole mile. (Like the awesome Daytona USA or Guardian Heroes HD remakes.)

If they stick X-2 in a a bundle, though, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. X-2 had the best combat system ever. Even if the rest of the game was... Displeasing.

Not saying XII is the remake I'd like to see first, that would be VII, but it's easier to see the former than the later being remade. I'm glad with X being announced and will take any other they make if they aren't half-assed remakes.

And Basch is awesome, that's unnegotiable

It is indeed. How can anyone not fall in deep, deep homosexual love with that man. And Balthier as well.

FFXII - pearls before swine, I tell you.

I do agree that XII is easiest to remake, probably.

Also, the only character I could stand of the main party was bloody Balthier. At least he got some character development that wasn't forced or just non-existant. Basch? He was... well, there. That's about all I can say about him. Like most of the characters, he had about the same amount of interesting characteristics as a pudding.

"Hi, I'm Basch. I didn't do anything, I got betrayed, I'm sorry anyway though" "Hi, I'm Vaan. And okay." "This ends my active involvement in this story."

So yeah, I don't want to see a remake of XII. It might be easier, but it's also a pretty poor game.

...people want to see X-2 remade? I do believe I'm astonished. Well, to each his own. Who knows, perhaps when they've finished on X, they'll decide on it regardless because they'll have most regions in place already.

despite all the bad stick FF X-2 recieved i really enjoyed it, i think its because its completly different to X just the same chars and scenery and that the battles were completly different which is what alot of people enjoyed about the 1st game, i enjoyed the story line and i would love to see it remade

They are not going to do it, but I think it wouldn't be a bad idea releasing both, FF X and X-2, together in a pack like they did with Ico & SotC. One without the other is kinda incomplete.
