Pokemon is fine, people just nitpick at it a lot. you do not -have- to use 5th Gen pokemon.
Dragon ball z games will go on as long as fans demand them, myself being a fan have no problem with this.
Silent Hill and resident evil are both screwed because developers fail.

Games that should go on forever in my opinion are The Elder Scrolls, and Castlevania(Because Dracula does stuff every 100 years or some shit)

games that will inevitably go on regardless of how bad they will be. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Call of Duty, Halo, and I'm sure many many more.
