Exclamation Problems with writing games for Sega CD

    And there folks!
I'm having a problem with the game Lunar: The Silver Star. Already downloaded from multiple locations and in various formats but none work.
I searched the internet and many people had the same problem as mine.
After the screen Working Designs Presents and the first appearance of the name of the game shortly before the first FMV scene the screen goes dark and not leave it.
How can I solve this problem?

I use real hardware and just had this problem with Lunar and Clifhanger until now.

Odd, I've never seen this problem myself. The only common issue I'd think would be a ToC is a little off. But that wouldn't crash games afaik, and if you've downloaded various formats around the net chances are you've bumped into at least one clean bin+cue.

Hmm, you wanna give another image a shot? I can rip you a clean 1:1 bin+cue from my original disc
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Crap, I can't seem to get flawless audio off my old disc (it was used and had minor scratches when I got it). At one point I wanted to collect every disc variant of Lunar TSS, but it's just something I never got around to. I guess I should at least look at getting a second now

    So yeah, I'm no help

Do BIN + CUE dump him anyway. Suddenly it works.
I do not have many alternatives and this is the closest I can get to solve my problem!

Donno if you still care, but check it out, I snagged disc #4 of Lunar TSS
    http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=130486513436

I already had #3. I'd be pretty happy if I could get number #2 as well, having 2-3-4 would give me the discs I like the best. I don't care for 5&6, and while #7 is pretty nice I'm sure it's insanely expensive

If you buy the game do not forget to dump me.
I think better than BIN + CUE would be a Clone CD image format.

I read an article where several users were having the same problem as me. One says that the disc was recorded with the Track-At-Once on the island and it worked, but when I tried to do the same, the recording of an error and I lose the disk.

BIN+CUE format is fine Clone CD format has no advantage over it

If you wanted you can scan the CD Image with CDmage that will check for errors in the CD Image and can also repair those

Errors can happen when making a backup without showing there has been any errors in the CD imagaing software, mostly this is from minor scratches/surface marks/dirt

Another option is to mount the CD image in Daemon Tools and do a CD to CD burn

You can describe in detail how to do this verification process in CDmage?
