Obsidian Entertainment and our legendary game designers Chris Avellone, Tim Cain, and Josh Sawyer are excited to bring you a new role-playing game for the PC. Project Eternity (working title) pays homage to the great Infinity Engine games of years past: Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment.

yea, i never could figure out how anyone could hold the middle part of an n64 controller and actually do much of anything. it's just weird.

Yea, this looks pretty sexy. I was gonna make a snide remark about the game being broken/buggy since it's by Obsidian, but looking at the actual talent involved I'm going to keep my mouth shut. There are some serious old school heavy hitters working on this game, and that's a plus. I don't have the kickstarter bug like some people do, but I might have to chip in on this one. Good find Gare

i've looked at the buggy games that obsidian released, and it normally isn't their fault because they aren't the ones doing the QA on them. publishers have taken over that a lot in the last seven or so years and the quality of games has suffered because of it. i've read a few interviews from them and they're pretty much said that if they were given the opportunity they would release bug free games, as much as is possible since you never quite know what is going to happen once it gets released to the wild.

What is QA? I've noticed this in some recent games I've beaten like assassin's creed and split/second.

I am debating heavily literally giving them all of my money. It seems like a good idea right now.

yea, that's what QA is. and from what i've heard basically no developer likes shipping buggy/broken games. but publishers don't really care that much as long as they make their money. it's also probably a lot of why we see day one patches so much because the devs find stuff that the QA missed. which is just STUPID on so many levels.

on the kickstarter: i pledged. wish i had more money to put towards it, but if this fails i'll eat my hat.

    EDIT

also... over one hundred posts. woo.

debating, i only have five CD-Rs left, two are for Metal Gear Solid, and i'm not sure if i should just get the ISO and use a virtual drive or burn it. if i burn it i can't play Final Fantasy VII until i get some more discs

i just ran it on a virtual drive. it works fine that way.

of course i also got it off of GoG.com for 5 bucks as well. or maybe it was ten. either way they have it on sale for like 4 dollars right now. if you fancy a version that has all the kinks worked out of it, is setup for modern systems and also has a place that lists the mods that make the game even better... just sayin'.
