Default Having problems playing a burned PS2 game...

I just downloaded Devil May Cry off the torrent tracker here, and successfully burned it and my PS2 reads it no problem. Everything is running smoothly, until, the game starts and the screen just starts moving up and down with lines all over the place. I'm not sure whether this is a compability problem or what, I'm pretty sure the game was a NTSC, but it may be PAL, I'm not really sure. Anyway how do I correct this problem?

It sounds like its PAL from the sounds of it, check where you downloaded it from, and you may be able to by checking out the code of the game by putting it in your DVD drive.

Yeah, it sounds PAL. You could use a startup disc with a PAL/NTSC selector. I have used DVDLoader successfully in the past. I'm pretty sure you can find it on one of those swap magic sites. Try a google search

I downloaded it from emuparadise torrenttracker. The uploader said it was NTSC, but I think its really PAL. Anyway I'll try that DVD Loader you mentioned. Thanks

If you want to find out Is It PAL or not you can open the Image with ISO Buster to see If It Is a PAL game for example SLES Is the PAL version of the game and SLUS Is the USA version of the game I hope this helps you.

I'm pretty sure its PAL now. I tried using PAL/NTSC Selector, but doesn't boot when I play it. So I'm still stuck here, other ideas?

What doesn't boot, the dvdloader or the game? Tell me exactly what happens when you load it.

Is it possible to convert PS2 isos from pal to ntsc and vice-versa? I do it with ps1 isos, using pal4u or zapper2000, but i dont know if its possible with ps2 isos. By the way, is there a good site with ps2 patches?

Yeah there is a generic patcher for patching to NTSC display aswell as a one for Patching to PAL display but as for what it is I don't remember I don't need to use it myself as I just use a Scart lead, NTSC looks OK on a PAL TV that way shame PAL on a NTSC TV looks er horrible

There is a vid mode boot CD and DVD you can download and use called ZoneLoader that you can get from www.ps2nfo.com <- you need to join there forum to download ZoneLoader

Again I have never needed ZoneLoader either
