Mounted images can be faster than reading from a CD drive, the access rate between image directly and mounted image though is APX the same

Ok, I was looking for the difference, or lack thereoff, between iso and mounted iso. Thanks.

Hum, do some games work better when mounted?

The difference is mounted images can use CDDA tracks but ran directly the cdda tracks are not read only the data track

Yes some games do work beter, also errors are handled beter sometimes if the images are mounted

P.S. FF9 runs just fine from CD Images directly also it has no cdda tracks used in this game

Without analog audio the cdda tracks don't work in ePSXe, even though win2k and winXP no longer need analog audio, some progs still use analog audio and won't work/play cdda tracks without it, the same applies to actual CD Rom drives aswell if they are not connected internally to your sound card/chip set
