    Windows 2K and XP uses the ATA cable to transmit audio... so yeah it's not needed. However as you pointed out Akuma that option needed to be enabled in order to play PC-engine games aswell as some PSX ones. :\

    Alot of the no CD sound problems posted is due to either not enabling Analog audio in Daemon Tools or because they don't have there CD/DVD drive connected to there sound card/chip set (that would be a Analog audio cable)

    I imagine that some older PC CD games also would like use Analog audio, even under XP or 2K

    If you only use Daemon Tools for emulating old games like ones for the PSX and PCE CD (TG16 CD) then keep your old one.

    Finally able to get on and they do still have DAEMON Tools 3.47 on there site, it's prolly worth getting that and keeping it to one side incase you are in need of it, in the event they do remove older versions.
