Don't think this is the right place to request your games.
Try the trading post or the Bittorent request section

    Default disc changing in FFIX

hi, sorry if this is a repeat, i searched through the forum but couldnt find a solution to the problem i am having
in FFIX, i am having great trouble changing discs- everytime i try and change to disc 2, the "please insert correct disc" screen shows. I have donwloaded the bin for ffix disc 1, and have borrowd the game from a friend. they are both PAL versions, i have the PAL patchI

i have tried mounting an image file of the disc using daemon tools, i have tried running an ISO, without mounting it, and obviously the CD itself. none of them work, however, i can load the first CD, but it doesnt rcognise the memcard file. I'd be greatful of any help anyone can give.

here are my specs, if it helps:
ive tried both epsxe v 1.5.2 and 1.6.0
    plugins- video - petes OpenGL
    - cd - CDR WNT/W2K core

    PC
    AMD XP2200
    512 MB RAM
    nVidia Ge-Force 4 MX 64MB

have you tried savestates to get around this (F1 to save, F3 to load, F2 to switch from 1,2,3,4,5 then back to 1)?

Are you using the PPF file?
As ff9 needs the PPF file in order to work, you could use pete's cd-r plugin to use the ppf file or make an iso of the cd with the ppf burned into it.

swopping CD's is easy enough if I remember you get to save before you swop anyway so just boot from CD2

if you havn't patched CD 2 then do so, or if you are running from ISO directly through ePSXe just pop the ppf in the patches folder of ePSXe

to swop in game after mounting another Image to Daemon or Swopping in your CD drive (running an Image directly you swop when you click Change Disc) press ESC then Click file then Change Disc then Run and Continue

I couldn't create a thread (literally, I'd just stay there in the create thread sceen, and pressing the button twice just said I already created the thread, but when I checked it wasn't there.... ), so I'm using this thread.
I Hope I'm not interruping any delicate conversations by just barging in like this

I found this on the web: (ugh, standard sentence...)
    http://web.mit.edu/cfields/News/playCD

It says something about being able to run burned disks (backups) without a modchip or swap-trick.
First is the well-know copy protection explained (the 'invalid' EDC/ECC code)
And he says that using a CDBurner that will either:
    # Allow you to write in either disc-at-once or track-at-once mode and not automatically 'correct' what it thinks to be corrupt sectors with invalid EDC/ECC codes.
    # Allow you to write the first track in RAW mode (2352 byte sectors, CD-DA) and then force the TOC to report the track as a CD-XA track
you can 'copy' the copy-protection, by preventing the CDBurner from automagically 'repairing' the checksum codes and keeping the nice zero's in there .
But that would still not let you play imports, as there's another trick there: Country Lock-Out Protection.
But this can be defeated also: (well, not really since I can't find the files he describes, but you could use one of your own CD's and get it from there)
All that is required to bypass the protection is to read the first track of the game you wish to convert and either skip or strip the first 16 sectors (0 through 15) and then substitute the correct image file in its place
searching the web some more (like a 1337-haX0r using g00gle 'n shit ) but I could only find this story of 'succes', but it's to 'by chance' to contain any truth really. I think so at least...

So I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of this (working or otherwise), or have any comments as to why this would (not?) work.

I have there have been plenty of these around a few years back and none of them worked, there was also a ton of Boot CD's that had claims of being edited in this way to be used on a unchipped PSX with burning instructions and also did not work.

I find it hard to beleive that this one actually works either :/.

Having a closer look I'm 99% sure this will not work from reading through it is bringing back memories of trying either that exact method or something very close, basicly I made a ton of coasters back then.

    Default 1st person mode

Hey I'm playing Uncle Fester Quest and I am trying to get to the fifth boss. I'm in the 1st person mode where it's green and grey. Everytime I come to a door it's the door I used to get in! If someone can help me that would be great. I went to gamefaqs.com and looked at the walkthrough but it didn't help me.....
