Default Ripping Music From SNES ROMs

I know there is a way to rip music from SNES Roms into some kind of files. (Cant remember the extension) Anyway the files get about 10-200 kb in size and can be played in winamp if u got a special plugin. I would like the program that rips the music and also if possible a converter that convertes these files into mp3s Thanks

ZSNES can do that. Just wait 'til you hear the song you want, press F1, and select "save SPC data". It'll create the SPC file for you (They're all 65K, no more, no less). Then get the WinAmp player (SNESAmp works well), and use that in conjunction with the WaveOut plugin to convert the song to a .wav file (make sure you turn the recording options off after you're done, or you'll be wondering why your HD space is so low after running through your playlist .). Then convert the .wav to an MP3.

You can check out http://www.zophar.net and download the soundtracks ripped directly from the roms. I have the Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario RPG, Earthbound and Zelda soundtracks.

Before you convert it with WinAmp you need to set a time limit in the plugin because the songs loop forever.

spc > midi: a converter exists but works horribly, and siumply creates an event list where everything is played on the piano and things are hard to change the instruments from piano.

spc > wav > mp3: just use the wavefile out of winamp once u have the spc plugin. then convert the stuff to mp3 using whatever encoder u have around.

But if i want to convert several files @ once? Is there a way to get winamp to separate them?

There is a dos tool you lot have forgotten about called Snessor

    It can
Can search .SMCs(or any other file) for SNES-type sounds
Can play each on command, at the selected speed
Can save each separately, or all at once
Can write to WAV and SND files
Can replace any one sample with your own WAV file

    find that at http://web.umr.edu/~bmartin/snes.htm
