    Question New to PSP isos

Hi, I've download a couple PSP games and noticed a lot of files inside that seem kinda irrelevant (.nfo, .sfv, .r00, .r01, .r02, .r03, etc). I also noticed another rar inside that contains an .iso file. I don't really know what to do with all these files. Is the iso the only file an emu needs, or does it need everything else too? Do the .r00 files need to be extracted with the rar, or are they completely separate files?

Any advice would be very helpful.

.rar .r00 etc are all parts of the same split archive. Extract from the first part (in this case it would be .rar? or maybe .r00? I'm not sure from what you've posted).
nfo would be scene release info.
sfv is to check archive for corrupt parts.

You can ignore the last 2 file types.

the rar file and the r## files are all parts of the archive containing the iso file, extracting by the first file is all that is needed as the other files/parts are read automatically (the first file in your instance is the rar file but you can get these with no rar file and depending on where the count starts it could either be r00 or r01 that you extract by, other splits are just named .000 .001 ect ect but the same rules apply extract via the first file only)

the nfo file is just a text file that will have some sort of release group information

the sfv file is just for verifying the files are in good shape that is to be used with software like quicksfv, it can come in handy when downloading split archives that don't extract correctly as it could be just one file causing issues, though not much good if the spit archive was already inside a single archive

Does it matter if I use 7zip to extract them? I've seen a lot of people on Youtube using Winrar, but it's not free and I can't stand that program.

7zip is really the better choice. Use the latest beta version from the official site.

Okay, so let me get this straight:

    1) if the archive contains 1 rar and multiple rar parts: extract the rar only
    2) if the archive contains no rar and only part files: extract the first part file only

    Do i have that right?

I only use the stable version, should I be using the beta instead?

mostly what I do is extract all the files from the file to the roms and put the iso file there too.
