    Default Creating your own selfbootable PCSXbox discs

    ==============================================
    How to create selfbootable PSX (PCSXbox discs)
    ==============================================

    Requirements:

    Modded Xbox - Hardmod or Softmod, does not matter
    A DVD+/-R/W Disc
    A DVD+/-RW Drive
    PSX ISOs (in .img, .bin, .iso format)
    PCSXbox 1.8 (Or a newer version, 1.8 is latest as of: 03/06/07)
    Qwix 1.01 (Or another program that creates an XISO from a DIR)
    Alcohol 120%, ImgBurn, Nero, DVD-Decrypter or similar
    CloneCD (Dumping PSX discs, if you're following my method)

    ==============================================
    1. Getting started
    ==============================================

    1. Download pcsxbox_18.rar from XBins FTP. If you are unsure of how to connect to Xbins refer to another guide.
    2. Unpack pcsxbox_18.rar (using Winrar, Winzip or 7zip)

    Now you have the emulator unpacked.
    Now you need to add PSX images.

    ==============================================
    2. Dumping PSX discs to image files
    ==============================================

    There are a lot of ways to go about dumping PSX games from CD/R. I am not going to list every method. Only the
    method that I personally use, which has never failed me.

    ** SKIP THIS PART IF YOU ALREADY HAVE DISC IMAGES, OR YOU KNOW HOW TO DUMP THE DISCS YOURSELF **

    1. Start up CloneCD
    2. Read to image file
    3. Select your DVD reader, the one that you've got the PSX disc in
    4. Hit next
    5. Select "Game CD"
    6. Hit next
    7. Click "browse" choose a suitable location for the image file (preferably \pcsxbox_18\psxcds\)
    8. You can click "Create Cue Sheet" if you want, but it's not necessary.
    9. Hit "okay"
    *. Repeat for however many games you are going to put on the disc.

    ** It's recommended that you only put 4GB worth of games onto a DVDR. As your ISO might be bigger once it's been
    compiled with Qwix and may not be burnable to a single layer disc (DVD5)

    ** Note: PCSXbox does NOT read compressed disc images, e.g: a rar containing a .img **

    ==============================================
    3. Almost ready to make an ISO
    ==============================================

    1. Place all PSX ISOs (.img if you followed my guide) into pcsxbox_18\psxcds\)
    *. Make sure you have about 4GB of images, or there abouts. You can go to 4,300MB of games at a push.
    *. It's highly recommended by me that you don't put more than 4GB of games onto a disc.
    *. If you're using a dual layer disc (DVD9) then you can put 8GB of games onto it.

    ==============================================
    4. Making your ISO
    ==============================================

    ** IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO USE QWIX, OR WHATEVER YOU USE, SKIP THIS PART OF THE GUIDE **

    1. Download Qwix
    2. Uncompress the archive (using Winrar, Winzip or 7zip)
    3. Click "Create ISO"
    4. Source: Local Folder: Click "..."
    5. Source Folder For ISO; browse to where your PCSXbox files are located
    6. Click "Create ISO"
    7. Filename: Give your ISO a suitable name, e.g: "psx.iso"
    8. Click save
    9. It will enter the painfully long process of creating an XISO (*.iso)

    ==============================================
    5. Burning your ISO
    ==============================================

    ** IF YOU'VE GOT A MODDED XBOX YOU'VE PROBABLY ALREADY BURNED AN XBOX ISO BEFORE, IF YOU'RE NOT SURE READ ON **

    Please note this guide is ONLY for ImgBurn

    1. Open ImgBurn
    2. Press: CTRL+ALT+W this will put ImgBurn into write mode
    3. Source: Please browse for a file
    4. Browse for your "psx.iso" (that's if you have been following my guide 100%)
    5. Click "Open"
    6. Write speed: Ensure this is on 4x, OR SLOWER. Preferably 2.4x
    7. Copies: Ensure this is on "1"
    8. Uncheck: "Verify" It's a bit of a waste of time, but you can leave it on if you so wish
    9. Click "Write" (It's the Disc Image to Disc icon)
    *. Once the disc pops out you'll have yourself a selfbootable PSX disc for your Xbox.

    ==============================================
    6. Configuring PCSXbox
    ==============================================

    *. For it to save onto your hard disk and not the disc it's burned onto you've got to configure it from the settings.
    Since I'm not 100% sure where the settings are I'll leave this section as bear as it is, for now.

    *. For a game that requires L2+R2 you can remap the controls so that B+W is L2+R2

    *. There are a lot of options you can play about with to enhance the graphics. For example changing the resolution to
    720p, or changing the software filter to 2xSai.

    ==============================================
    7. Enjoy PCSXbox
    ==============================================

    If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    PLEASE NOTE. This guide can be used for other emulators aswell, although it was specifically written for pcsxbox.
