    Default PSP retrogaming

Hi, I recently got a PSP-2004 and I'd like to do some retrogaming, first of all I need a charger 'cause I can't find it anymore, do you think this one is good? Or it'd be better to take one Sony original?
    https://www.amazon.it/Caricabatteria.../dp/B00MUI7ROW

Plus, would you suggest me also a modified battery, with more mAh so that it can last more? Are there any original from Sony?

And to run ISO, which custom firmware is the best and the most updated? Thanks in advance.

Yeah that should be fine although I didn't pay that much for the last wall charger I bought, which was a generic Chinese one. Is that amazon charger non-genuine? I can't be bothered translating Italian

PSP needs 5v so you can actually just get a USB to power plug cable, which should cost around $1 Australian (less than 1 EUR)...like this:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-A-to-...gAAOSwK7FWh0v6

If you want a dedicated wall charger then you can just get a cheap generic Chinese type like this:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Home-Wall...EAAOSwU-pXsl97

^For the above the wall plug is wrong for you I think, but if you look on ebay you should get results with EU cord. The charger itself appears to be the exact same one I got though that probably isn't the seller I used at the time.
The charger has an IEC socket anyway so I usually don't care what power cord I get in those situations, I have plenty of spare IEC to AU cords lying around

    Edit:
For CFW you only need 6.60 based. Some people use 6.61 but there is little point as no games require it.

    Most recent are 6.60 PRO-C fix3 and also 6.60 LME 2.3.
Choice is yours, I have both but temp (non-permanent) on different card adaptors, you can get cheap adaptors (around $1-2 Australian) to run 2x micro SD cards instead of Sony memory stick (which are expensive and limited capacity).

Example of the memory card adaptor I'm talking about:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/White-New...0AAOSw-0xYUjqa

You can get single micro SD card adaptors too but the dual ones let you have better value storage size.

What's the purpose of keeping both CFW (permanent and not)? One isn't enough? And wouldn't it be better to have the permanent's, so that you don't have to run the CFW every time you shut down the console?

Have you got any tips about different types of battery? I'm noticing there are really a lot out there, so far I found:
    -1800 mAh
-2200 mAh, this should be the only original made by Sony -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Sony...-/161841661198
    -2400 mAh
    -3600 mAh

Do you think the others, being not original and having more than a normal ampere (3600 I think it's pretty much), could damage the PSP?

While I'm waiting for the charger, can I charge it plugging to the PC? I tried, I had a cable, but it doesn't power on, why?

You don't have to "run" the CFW every time you cold boot the PSP, you're just re-enabling it. It only takes a few seconds nowhere near as long as flashing perm CFW.
A lot of people think perm is better but whatever. If anything goes wrong it's possible to brick.
Perm or temp is your own choice

As for battery I wouldn't know personally. I never cared too much for truly portable gaming.

USB charging only works if that option is enabled (turned on) in the PSP menu.

I thought it was just the first model that couldn't charge via USB.

yeah 1k models don't have usb charging capabilities only the 2k and 3k models do. would have been nice if the 1k models did.

There are more than 3 retail models You forgot about Go & E1000 aka Street.
It's only really the first model (if you don't include kiosk/dev units) that doesn't have USB charge, but you can probably mod them to have it since the power port takes 5v.

oh yeah the GO I forgot about that piece of crap. if you can mod the 1000 model I'd like to know my battery is dead and playing with it plugged into the wall charger is kind of annoying powering it wish usb would be much more comfortable for me.

Never looked at a PSP mainboard so you'd have to look it up. As I said I assume it would be possible to connect the positive from the power socket to whichever pin on the usb port supplies 5v.
