Well idk about higher spec machines but I've always disabled it. Yeah it makes a difference if your machine is like a low end dual core with 8GB ram.

As I recall that's around what Grouch has, maybe only 4gb ram too.

This lappy I'm on right now is amd dual core 8GB ram.
The CPU is an old E2 budget type (kinda like old Intel Atom), has radeon graphics (no dedicated gpu ram).

They don't have stuff labelled "service pack 2" or whatever anymore. That stopped years ago.
You'll just see version updates like (eg): November 2021 update (21H2) <- this will have a build number.

I know Win. 10 doesn't have SPs. I wasn't sure about Win. 8 as I only used it briefly when it was relatively new.

He's better off having any graphical UI stuff disabled. It's a weak CPU and iGPU.

It uses enough that you should disable it. Your specs are low and you don't need it for anything.

I don't use it on my desktop. I don't see any performance impact when I use it on my laptop but that uses win 7 and has a better cpu.

Hmm, seven of nine Stranger Things S4 episodes just dropped, with the last 2 coming in July. Weird release scheduled. Not sure if I'll just wait.

Try downloading stuff, moving files to an external HDD and watching youtube at the same time.
Then test aero on and off.

First season was actually good, that's why the show is popular. Other seasons were kinda meh, but watchable.
