Also, you don't HAVE to buy a big new TV to play consoles. Chances are, you already own one.

Hmmm, watch The Aviator again, or play Evil Genius?

Radeon is quite badass really, but recently is going downhill. The HD2900XT wasn't exactly groundbreaking as everyone thought it would be.

Besides, I never really saw a computer as a way to play games outside of emulation, and that's because I like to play my old console favorites. I'd play them on a console with emulator if I could, btw.
I understand you... believe me, when I got my first "gaming" PC, I saw what my crappy computer running windows 95 with 4 MB (I believe) of video could do, and what my SNES could do... and the SNES owned the PC... not because of the graphics... because of the quality of the games I was playing.

The game that really hooked me into PC gaming was Age of Empires...

And that's not the most graphical game there is. Oh, and I preferred Doom for the SNES, and Wolfenstein 3D was very, very repetitive.

You can own a TV before getting consoles. It's kinda pointless to have a monitor if you don't have a computer.

One of my first games though. 3rd I believe, 1st was X-Wing and 2nd was Syndicate Wars.

People toss out old CRTs all the time though. Start visiting businesses often, alot of times when they upgrade their PCs they give away the old hardware. I got that old dell CRT that way, about 6 years ago.

Exactly. There's nothing like comfortably sitting your butt in a couch or recliner, possibly with someone laying on you, and playing an old favorite.

When I sit at the computer, I can hardly play for more than 30 minutes at a time. It feels... weird.

ok, I'll agree with you on that one, particularly for PSX, that was the last console I really liked.

My dad works for the government. If there's a place that "wastes/throws" away stuff, it's that one. Whenever they change offices or whatever, they almost throw everything away. That's why elections are so fucking costy over here.
