Default quick question about using cdmage

I installed cdmage and scanned my resident evil directors cut ccd file and I noticed that it found 204 errors.I click repair errors and it didnt repair all of them, just some.I now have 54 errors left on my resident evil directors cut.The game was having sound glitches and I think the errors is the reason why.also how do I get this cdmage to open img files? It only lets me open ccd files and if I try to open a img file it says that its gonna save and turn it into a cue file.I also attached the cdmage log to the leftover errors that cdmage left me with.

The ccd file opens the img/sub file for you.
That's what ccd, cue, and mds files are for, to tell applications how the image file (bin, img, mdf) needs to be opened.

That's why CDMage won't let you open the img file, because it needs the ccd to tell it how to open and load both the img and sub files.

As for your errors, if CDMage can't fix them, then the only way you might be able to fix them is with Zidrav.

    Download Zidrav from here:
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/zlgiwd

and unzip it, then reply here, and wait for further instructions.

    Change in plans.

My copy is a bin/cue, so forget Zidrav.

I'm going to upload my copy instead to MegaUpload, and send you the links.

For the free service, only one download at a time.

Also for the free one, they have a limit of a certain number of MB before they cut you off for a certain amount of time.

How many MB and how long they cut you off never seems to be constant though, so I can't give you an exact number.

You'll probably be able to download 2 or 3 parts now, then have to wait awhile to get the rest.

    Part 3 is up, btw.

Hey SegNin you can still use Zidrav. The BIN file from a cue/bin image and the IMG file from a CloneCD image are virtually the same. As for the error log, you forgot to "Locate Contents of Sector" before making it although it does still look really corrupted. It makes me wonder how so many corrupted images ended up on the net to begin with.

As you say, they're virtually the same, but not the same.

One time I tried to make a zidrav patch from a bin/cue for a ccd/img/sub that I already had, and I got a very large patch, even though there were only a few errors.

I just didn't want to go to all the trouble to walk him through how to use Zidrav, only to have to upload a 150-200+ MB patch anyway.

A patch that nobody else could use except him.

So, I just figured it would be quicker and easier to upload my shiny and pristine copy for him.
    And for everyone else.

Hm...well the only way they can be different is if the image contains audio tracks or if it is really a competely different version of the game altogether. CDRwin does not included the data for the pregap between tracks 1 and 2 of a mixed-mode image (assuming track 1 is a data track) but CloneCD does so that would be the only real difference between the two.
