4 looks like a game in the Wizardry series, but I've only seen a friend playing Wizardry VIII once. It's definitely so old-school it's practically retro; the only FPRPG I've seen in recent years is Etrian Odyssey. 13 bears more than a passing resemblance to Magical Starsign, however, so...

    13. Magical Vacation.

Curses, Xena beat me to Sakura Taisen.

Correct. And since clues were requested...

    1. Ladystalker. (Ragnar)
    2. Gleylancer (Sikieiki)
    3. Decidedly mediocre vert shooter designed by Gunpei Yokoi. A launch title for the original black and white Gameboy. It also has the distinction of being the only scrolling shooter Nintendo have ever developed themselves.
    4. Final 16-bit installment of a famous action-RPG series that traces its roots to NEC computers.
    5. SSI-produced roguelike boasting randomly generated dungeons. Billed as a graphical version of Hack.
    6. Alien Soldier. (pkt)
    7. SNES S-RPG well known for its overbearing similarities to Shining Force. Was later given a re-release / remake on the Saturn. It also saw an eventual sequel on the PSX.
    8. Popolocrois. (Xena)
    9. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. (Ivolt)
    10. Amiga hit ported to nearly every console under the sun at its time of release. The Genesis version, in particular, is renowned as being one of the hardest games ever made (I think someone here also described it as one of the most broken =P). Saw two sequels, the second of which never left its native platform.
    11. Sakura Taisen III. (Xena)
    12. A very recent, heavily musically-themed RPG. Currently Japan-only, but it's due for release in the US under a rather less Engrish-y name.
    13. Magical Vacation. (Mistral)
    14. Japan-only spinoff to one of the more famous RPG series to have begun during the 32-bit era. Story runs parallel to a numbered game in said series. Gameplay is very different to its father series.
    15. Little Princess: Marl Oukoku no Ningyouhime II. (Ivolt)
    16. Psygnosis platformer for CD32, Sega CD, and Genesis. Main character uses magic via a fairly rudimentary item combining system.
    17. Tales of Rebirth. (Ivolt)
    18. Final installment in a shooter series that became famous for its Genesis installments. Awesome soundtrack and gameplay help it overcome very clunky 3-D graphics. Originally a Saturn game, but was later ported to PSX, upon which it saw an eventual US release.
    19. Monster World IV. (Ragnar)
    20. Kingpin. (pkt)

    4. Ys... 5, or so?
    5. Dungeon Hack.
    7. Feda, I think. Battles did have this sort of scenes, there.
    10. Shadow of the Beast.
    12. That... Chopin themed game. Forgot what it's called. Chopin's Dream, or somesuch.

Indeed indeed. Ys V was the last until Napishtim. The Chopin game is Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream, and Eternal Sonata in the US. And I think it was Evans who described the Genesis version of Shadow of the Beast as irredeemably broken. For what it's worth, I agree.

    Indeed.

And maybe it's more obscure than I thought. I used to play it all the time at my cousin's as a kid, though. And despite it being probably the most mediocre shooter ever, it seemed kinda fun back then.

Meh, can't believe I can't figure it out. I remember most of the Game Boy launch titles but not this one... as soon as I see the title or boxart I will probably remember it though.

Yes, yes it is. Not sure if it was a US launch title, but I'm pretty sure it was an EU one.

Game over, then. And it's pkt's go, if he wants it. I think Elmdor said that the person who gets the most is the person who gets the next turn, and he was the one who came up with this whole collage idea, so...

So, I was lazy to try and think about a dozen or so games-to-be-guessed, so I just took screenshots from the stuff on my laptop. Considering my odd gaming habits, some of them might even be rather obscure.
Anyway, the mother of all pictures (2 MB, rapidshared for saving the bandwidth of other hosts I could use). Twenty games, listed in descending order of estimated obscurity.

    Get guessing.

The second from left to right is Castlevania Dracula X or Vampire's Kiss in Europe if my mind doesn't fail me... as for the rest... NFI.

    1. Guardian Heroes.
    3. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure something or other. (Wryyyyyyyy!)
    5. La Mulana.
    9. Pushover, I think. (gosh that brings back memories )

I'm sure I know a few of the others, but I can't think just now, as I just woke up.
