While not totally related, interesting nonetheless...

I wanted HD programming from Direct TV, and they said I had to buy the HD box at a tune of $99.95 + $20 shipping. I LOL'd a bit, then ordered Digital Cable and 10MB Internet from Insight.

My wife called Direct TV to cancel today, and they of course asked why. She explained, and they said they would offer a free upgrade to the HD box.
