Default sound acting funnily in FFO

I recently got sick of PSX emulation but after watching FF VII Advent Children and not really understanding the storyline (although i have played a little of the game) i decided to get back into Final Fantasy.

Anyhoo, I downloaded the FFO .mds/.mdf thingy-mabobby off emuparadise.

The game ran pretty much perfectly on first run, but i had forgotten to limit the Frame Rate and after i did so, the sound for the opening movie of FFI stopped working.

    Can somebody help?

I have ePSXe 1.52 and 1.60 but ran it on the latter. I'm using Eternal SPU 1.41 also as i found it worked best for me previously.

hmm not sure only psx emulator i use is for my psp.
but i used to get something just like that when using a n64 emulator on my computer it ended up being my sound plugin so play with that or try reading the read me (which i hope you did). Try going farther in the game it could just be that movie, and if all that doesn't work theres a pc verison of the game, i wish i remember where i got it sorry!.

    :EDIT:

If its FF1-3 (i believe) just get a SNES emulator and get the roms from this site.

yeah ive heard about the PC version but have no idea where to get it. (and we also can't post links to PC games on this forum btw.)

I have the GBA versions of them (I - VI) anyway. It's just that the PSX version is full-screen and some graphics thingys have been updated.

Its so annoying how they keep the shitty graphics cos they think that people like retro graphics. Fair enough i suppose, cos they do. I just wish they could re-make the game with decent graphics. All they could be bothered with is a fancy opening movie. ARGH MAKES ME SO ANGRY!!!!!!

Try Lime wire but the risk of a virus is high.

Hey man, I would use a torrent.

DLing games of LimeWire is for n00bs, seriously, 9 times out of 10 you wont get what you want.

EDIT: ANYHooo back to my main problem................

    Try this:

Download Daemon Tools 3.47 from here (it's free): http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools/?236
Make sure you get 3.47, and NOT the newest one.

First, install and configure Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive on your computer. After doing that you should see a small icon in your system tray that looks like a lightning bolt. Right-click on that lightning bolt, choose "Options", and make sure there's a check mark next to "Analog Audio". <--- very important

Now this time left-click the lightning bolt icon, and click where it says "Device ## No Media", then choose the .mds file by double-clicking it.

Now, for ePSXe if you haven't already installed P.E.Op.S. CDR plugin, then get it from here:
    http://www.pbernert.com/html/cdr.htm

And unzip the contents to your ePSXe plugin folder.
Now open ePSXe by double-clicking it, and click Config > Cdrom > Select P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4 > Configure.
For Interface, if you have Win98 or WinME, then choose W9X/ME - ASPI scsi commands
For Interface, if you have Win2000 or WinXP, then choose W2K/XP - IOCTL scsi commands.
For Drive: choose Generic DVD Rom V1.0
For Read Mode: Try Auto Detection.
    Leave everything else alone.

Now you're ready to play the game.
Start ePSXe, go to File > Run CDROM.
    And your game should start.

Actually I pasted a slightly revised version that I have saved to a text file on my comp.

Did you try a different sound plugin?:
